Hello, anybody can answer my question?
Recently, I bought a ticket to BALI nxt year, but I have made up my mind not to travel there...
well...is there any circumstances I able to get refunded ? or i cannot request for refund?T.T

u can get back your airport tax...
if the flight delay or retime for more than 3 hours, then u can get back all your $$..

I normally get there around 1 hour 15 minutes to 1.5 hours before flight coz I hate going extra early and waiting. The only disadvantage of checking in a bit late is not getting seats next to each other if you're going in a group.

Nowadays after AA implemenmt the seat numbering, even u are the 1st to check-in, they will not allocate seats according to your liking unless u pre-book! mad.gif

I checked in late ~1hr b4 flight in Jul & all 3 of us getting diff seat numbering..Have to bet others in the plane to exchange. I used AA again in Aug & this time I went early..only 5 in line...& they still split us to 3 diff location!! My request to combine was not entertained at all......So those in Family, no choice hv to pre-book seat ..Otherwise kena penalty from AA! mad.gif

Eh how come like that? Did you make bookings online for all 3 together? Once I checked in and the lady gave us different seats, but then I told her about it and she promptly changed our seats so we ended up seating together. But usually not a problem to get seats next to each other.

Pardon me, but if you want the peace of mind of being seated together, why don't you prebook your seats?

That's why I said earlier..I regretted not to pre-book earlier!! doh.gif If I had pre-book earlier, I will not ended in asking favour from nice folks inside the planes to switch seats rather than asking from the unhelpful check-in staff! Furthermore.who knows that by not prebook & coming earlier, we will be splitted anyway...bcos the AA computer system programmed that way to penalise those who dun pre-book their seats! mad.gif

No-lah dirt cheap RM5 nia...RM25 is for those hot seats 5 front rows & the 2 mid spacious rows.

Check how AA penalizes those who dun pre-book their seat...The advert do the talking LIAO!! THIS IS ON PURPOSE!! Splitting family is their motto for those whon dun pre-book!

it's not a penalty so to speak. it's just how these load planning program works. but of course there are more sophisticated softwares in the market, but they cost a few more coins.

Ehhh They can just do a minor tweaks to the programme to enable combining seats for those in family & not to split them. The advertisement by splitting the couple already an obvious example they wanted ppl to pre-book.

So those going on AA...be warned..pls pre-book your seats earlier..otherwise..kena split...It's really uneasy asking passengers to switch place...

I'm not saying you can't make minor adjustments to the logic, but every adjustment is a cost - and trust me, it's not cheap. But seeing your reaction to this, all I can say is relax, and not take things to the extremes.

Peace out.
