hi guys.. just wanna ask.. can i just install L-box direct to my original ceiling without installing the normal flat plaster ceiling?

as below image is my rough idea on how i want the L-box positioned (if applicable) so that it the light is shined down to my living room, study area and dining area.

Yellow highlighted part is where the lights should be install (again if applicable). Red will be the L-box.

Why i want only the L-box is well i like the effect of L-box, but i don't want my ceiling to be too low with an additional flat plaster ceiling. And most importantly is because i want my fan to be installed in the middle of the box direct onto the ceiling. Well i do not have the exact height measurement of my ceiling yet because my house is not ready.. should be another 1-2 months before i can get the key..

roughly how much will this cost + wiring?

My upstairs plaster ceiling (plain) include hole - master bed room, 2 bed rooms and upstair living rooms (ceiling of staircase there and ceiling of living room) = RM 2700.
I guess bout 900 to 950 sq.
Ground floor I only do it for kitchen.

Maybe plain one cheaper.

I had just done my plaster ceiling last week. My hse is double story corner with around 3000 sqft build up. Design is mix of flat/downlight and light box, depend on ceiling shape. 2 suppliers from Lowyat site quoted RM 77XX and RM 55XX each. So much different!!! So please get at least 2 quotes.

Date to complete also big different, one said 2 weeks and another one just need 1 week.

Off course I go with cheaper & faster one:  And he completed it in 2 days!!! All worker are chinese and workmanship is good too. really superman.

Question to ask here, if i am planning to install light box with t5 lighting, should i provide horizontal clearance between ceiling fan blade and edge of light box? In case of t5 lights, will it cause flicker effect as per downlight? Thanks
