They can remove the existing ceiling board and fix the plaster boards onto the existing frames. Or you could get them to remove everything and start from scratch. Former choice should be slightly cheaper

i see.. then if like that, how much lower the price gonna be? any contractor here, can quote me, please.
btw, thanks spaces, for your reply.

Hi guys. My ceiling height is only 9' 2" after the flat plaster ceiling installed.
Is the height of the ceiling too low and hard to buy the ceiling fan?
Normally what's the height for ceiling after plastering consider too low?

Initially, already PM him few days earlier. On the day, already text him, no response. Then, asked me to wait for the next 2 hours because he is at another client. Aigooo...people's time you need to respect lor. If you cannot make it...must let us know earlier or if you cannot take up so many projects don't say can la.

Maybe before he has not so many customers. I don't mind the fact that he couldn't make it but more of No courtesy and respect of people's time. Perhaps you're the lucky ones. smile.gif

my flat is in melaka, quite small, I think around 650sqf maybe? how much do you think it will cost ?

My original plaster ceiling was 9 ft 3 inches. I didn't dare to do L Box because I worry it would be too low where I worry the fan is quite low and my house become smaller. So far, quite happy with the workmanship of RM 2.20 per ft.

Now, after plaster ceiling hard board of 5 inches, I have 8 ft 10 inches to floor ... It's look not too low but I feel if I buy a nice living / ceiling fan of 18' inches, it would be quite low.

Anyone has such experience or any good ceiling fan of dark metal / chrome colour to intro? Below RM 500... Hehe.

I find L-Box works better for me. My original ceiling is 10.2ft and the beam is 0.9 ft from there, with the Light box only the beam part is 9.2ft and the center flat board is 9.6 ft (ceiling to floor). If it is flat board throughout, my entire ceiling would have been 9.2ft

Hi guys, wanna ask a question. I was quoted by my contractor for L box in a very funny way, at least to me.
My understanding of plaster ceiling is that it goes by RM ?? per square feet for flat board.
But for L box, it is per foot run, eg. RM ?? per foot.
I plan to surround my living hall with a L box that runs along all four corners, leaving the middle remaining as original concrete ceiling without plaster ceiling. How come he is charging me the price for per foot run of L box and then on top of that tell me he will also charge 2 feet wide flat board by per square feet along the four corners as well.
It is as though, he is telling me, need to install a flat board then beneath it Lbox is installed. Ain't I paying double for what it is not?
Value ur input guys..thanx a million

ANother question as well.....
Do you guys repaint a new house inner part after the plaster ceiling, hacking for concealed piping and etc?

PEning di....
Hahaha
Want to ask one more question, the charges for installation of lights in RM 10 per one light by my contractor.....doesnt matter normal light or downlight for plaster ceiling.
How bout the T5 tube lighting for the L box in the plaster ceiling.
For my 80 feet run of L box, he charged me two points for T5 (that is for the point). He asked me get T5 light myself, but he can install it for me. He was telling me that I need 24 T5 tubes. He can install it for me.
My question is since there is only two points for the T5, which means 12 will connect to point number 1 and the other 12 tubes will be connected to point number 2. So how will he charge me for installation of the T5, ie. RM 20 (RM 10 for each point) or RM 240(RM 10 for each and every tube)?

U have to check with ur contractor. Mine charge me per point since it just connected each T5 with the connector. Some did charge in lumsum.

RM4 should be the normal wan and the price vary depend the design. So no comment.
