Has anyone heard of this Queen Ceiling board? Does it work as they listed out?

The cost is almost double than the normal plaster. Wondering if its really worth it.

Hey, for those who consider installing plaster ceiling, please consider uPVC ceiling. Please visit http://dagangdunia.blogspot.com for further detail.

Anyone tried this uPVC ceiling? Is it expensive? Durable?

This Queen ceiling board is considered new. I also happened to know when i was visiting a house doing renovation and he installed this ceiling.

The workmanship is nice but regarding the feature, he has not properly stayed there so he can't really comment.

If anyone wants the quotation or contact person.. U can PM me.

Maybe i'm gonna try this as i still have kids and hopefully it'll provide clean air in the house.

Dear all forumers,

I need your opinion. I modeled my house before doing some plaster ceiling work

Attached Image

The main hall I did not want it to look small. So I pushed it up a bit compared to the rest of the area.

It's an island design and to cover the beam the plaster drops down until 8" 3'. Is this very low ?

Do you think I should let the height the same as the dining ?

Also I plan on using 4" down light. On main hall maybe from Wong lighting covered with Glass -- > Will it be bright enough for the main hall ?

For the rest of the area I will be using those Philip 4" fixtures like sold at ACE Hardware? I got from a shop selling them cheap as stock clearance. Any comments on these?

Thanks
sonerin

May i know how much is the market rate for L box plaster ceiling per square feet??
To be precise, 230 square feet (rectangular) with U shape L box.

Ok. After reading through all 24 pages of this thread, I can conclude that L Box is usually charge by feet run (around RM10++ per ft run)...

my contractor quote me rm15 for L-Box and rm17 for light through. He said he also can give me the price rm10/rm13 but the board will be thinner. The price he quoted me is using 9mm think which is the thickest in the current market. Any comment?

Thanks bro. I had 4 different contractor quote me and the price are abang adik for the plaster ceiling (total amt). But this contractor does provides me the lowest price for the wet work. If I cant get a better price I might end up taking him for the work. Any recommendation?

Just some additional info, the price included hole cut for down light and 2 layer of maxilite.

Note: I do know the market price is RM2.5 for flat board, RM10 for L box and RM13 for Light through.

He told me maxilite is more than enough for PC. Any recommendation if proper paint is require ? I just want the PC in white color smile.gif

Sifu Sifu,

I need advice. Im doing L-Box plaster ceiling and wanted to know the position of the lighting inside. I plan to use T5 lighting, but not sure what is the best position for more light to shine from the box.

Below is the pic of the cross section of the LBOX. Which one is best, and which one ppl normally use? hmm.gif

Do you plan to use only 1 T5 or 2 or 3 for different colors? I am thinking to use LED strip but the lighting shop keep telling me it is not bright enough and ask me to go for T5 instead. I am thinking to save the future electricity bill with LED strip.....

for the entire box, depends on which wall. the longer wall got 2xT5 and shorter wall has 1xT5.

All same colour - colour temp maybe 3000k? thumbup.gif
