It's possible, whereby their vertical velocity component is near zero in the projectile motion as pix below.
This is possible.

Jitshiong, the curvilinear projectile motion in this case has a non-zero numerical value for the vertical component, say 5 m/s..so the glider will launch upward. Is this what you mean and projected from the video? What's the length of it's jump, is it more than 5 or 6 feet?

Yea, seen it in national geographic too...awesome video...
It's for both....
But for long distance...dunno how to explain...
i draw more
wait ar..
[attachmentid=445597]
Flight last longer at the end....
It's called volplaning
Then u can see them flap their membran, and use their tail to navigate
*

Uber cool guys! Thanks for sharing this.

The part where volplaning comes into play is just too interesting to ignore. In planes this requires a certain amount of control fed back by wind speed, velocity of the projectile motion and many other complex parameters(gravitational pull, density of air, aerodynamics etc.). And gliders seem to have master this 'controlled steady decent' very well, landing spot on. And this is really exciting!

How's the DIY cage going on so far silverwineus?

Dear Rafiqos,

The project has been stalled for last two months due to incoming work loads.

The blueprint is under construction now, hurray!

Once it's done, i shall post them for your review.

There will be some changes. Rivets and aluminium plate going to replace cable ties. smile.gif

Okay, for those of you who might not know and want to know more about The Pet Glider Complete Multivitamin, I've updated my thread with all the info. You can go and check it out by clicking on the siggy there smile.gif

QUOTE(silverwineus @ Apr 16 2008, 09:14 PM)
Wo..It contains all the natural good stuff!! thumbup.gif It seems if you have this multivitamin, you can do away it with other supplement right?Even calcium.
*

Err, the multivitamin is a supplement and yes, if you are using this multivitamin, there is no need for others even calcium... But if you already have the calcium, you can still add a little to their diet from time to time or use it to gutload their insects.

Okay, just called Dr Yeoh's clinic. I'm trying to set up an appointment for the surgery on Saturday or Sunday next week. And his asistant would refer to the Dr. whether he would be free to do it since usually they dont do surgeries on weekends.

Anyone here interested in coming with me? Hehe...

Added on April 17, 2008, 2:23 pmHis asistant just called and say hes going oversea on the dates I asked for.. sad.gif

Maybe I'll try one of the weekdays before that. Terpaksa la amik cuti...

Yes, emino, Dr. Yeoh usually doesn't do surgeries during weekends because it's a very busy day during weekend.

He will have less/little time to tend to surgery patient.

I begged him to do Iggy during weekends cuz I cannot take leave...

It was dropping Iggy off early morning, then pick him up when he was ready.

He actually agrees for Saturday this week, but Saturday this week gaji x masuk lagi ler... So I asked for next week and he says he'll be going to a seminar overseas. So I'm trying to get a date before he go to the seminar la.

Added on April 17, 2008, 4:23 pmBTW KP, do Dr Yeoh uses glue or stiches? I read the glidervet article and the dr uses glue. I'm wondering what methods does Dr. Yeoh use.

Do you have any pictures prior to the death? Kaki tersangkut for a while couldn't possibly be the reason it die. I think you prob have underage gliders.
