QUOTE(souzaco @ Mar 2 2008, 01:49 PM) Hello all. this is a clearer pictureI am just wondering on what are your thoughts on the bifurcated sugar glider penis...now don't get me wrong but I 'might' get one (it is not known if it will be a female or a male one) and I just need a guideline on the anatomy of the male sg. notice the word 'might'. lol. depending on the number of joeys that is being born and whether the breeders sister wants a sg or not. Oh, and about the bald male scent glands... how bad do they stink. I know - different people, different opinions but once again I just needed a brief insight of it. Lol. ciao~ |

QUOTE(emino @ Mar 1 2008, 08:15 PM) Haha, entering adulthood... I need to neuter Micah soon... You up to it? QUOTE(cheekyd @ Mar 2 2008, 05:46 AM) wanna ask a Question.. my suggie some how like to pee whenever its on me or when i take him out of its cage... its been already a few occasion.... how do i train or wat to do to litter...and its for now its still making noise when i tried to take him out of its sleeping pouch anyway how do u bond with suggie n training it to respond to their name.... and to giv treats .. ^^ Cheers will upload Munchy Picture soon =D Suggies cannot be toilet/litter train. They'll go whenever they like, wherever they like. If they are not comfortable or fully bonded with you yet, ofcourse they will make noise still. It's very rare for suggies to actually respond to their name, they're not like dogs. Even some that does, won't do it 100% of the time. Everything needs a lot of patience and persistance when dealing with gliders. QUOTE(NewbieBetta @ Mar 2 2008, 11:41 AM) if by using breeder celect as bedding & we clean the cage daily..this may reduce the smelly?but will they recognise their home? Yes, they will still recognize their home/place as their nose is more sensitive than humans. QUOTE(souzaco @ Mar 2 2008, 01:49 PM) Hello all. Oh, and about the bald male scent glands... how bad do they stink. I know - different people, different opinions but once again I just needed a brief insight of it. Lol. ciao~ My thoughts on gliders bifurcated penis? NONE! Why should that even be a question in the first place? Every animal has different types and shapes of anatomy but that does not interfere at all with the whole being of the animal itself... Each and every one is unique. Male glider penis is always retracted and can only be seen occasionally, but there is no reason for one to be disgusted over it. A neutered male will be less flashy and smelly. QUOTE(phoonwa @ Mar 2 2008, 06:06 PM) [size=2]Last few days meet up my taiwanese supplier and he also a sg lover. After he viewed my cage and he ask me "ur sg very less jumping izzit?". I also got the same feel with him. He said his like to jump because of the "sg platform". Due to the wooden that we use to hang inside the cage very limited space for sg to prepare for jumping. He teached me DIY some "sg platform" to increase the chances for sg to jump. After i made some platform and put inside the cage i found that what he said is true and now my sg like to jump insite the cage compare to last time only climbing most of the time. Since today i m so free then i wont like to share with how to DIY the "SG Platform". Nice platform idea. But it would be better if you can find another material than wood because wood absorbs pee very fast and will smell badly over time. Not even washing or hang drying it will do much difference to reduce the smell. QUOTE(souzaco @ Mar 2 2008, 06:34 PM) What I'm trying to say/ask is how 'weird?' does it look. They say it looks like worms and I'm not sure if I would be shocked by it. lol. I guess I'm not making any sense here. hehehe. Yes, it doesn't make sense and as replied in the above, it's not something one should be shocked of or find it weird at all. QUOTE(jitshiong @ Mar 2 2008, 10:52 PM) After telling him bout how i care for my gliders n how to train them,he revealed to me that his boss (he has a bigger boss, ths shop in Seremban is just a branch) is actually keeping 3000-5000 pairs of imported gliders to be bred. Wild untamed gliders imported illegally. He even told me that they r gonna ship the gliders into Singapore n that there's a certain time where they'll be able to do it. 3,000-5,000 pairs sounds a little impossible even for a mass breeder because breeding gliders are not like a chicken egg factory. So far I have never heard of any gliders being shipped into S'pore in large amounts because it is not easy and ILLEGAL to do so. Tho there are small time smugglers who does it, but if being caught, you will be slapped with a huge fine and jail sentence. You wouldn't want to be in the S'pore jail if you know what goes around there. S'pore rules are very tight, no S'porean really dare to break any except for some foolish Malaysians who think they can and end up being caught and humiliating their own country. QUOTE(jitshiong @ Mar 3 2008, 08:02 AM) Gliders aren't hard to get...there's plenty in Indonesia Only the joeys are expensive. Those who caught wild gliders are selling them cheap... Wild gliders are being sold at RM60 each. Yes, they're plenty in Indonesia and the wild caught being brought in here are those from Indonesia. It's very sad that our government isn't really looking into these matter and taking the necessary measures to actually do some controlling. QUOTE(spel'it @ Mar 3 2008, 10:29 AM) Pity them. They wudnt know the sweetness of having suggies as companion. They must regard them as tupai like us here. Just pests that eat all the fruits we grow. Suggies aren't as much as a pest to Aussies as Possums. Possums go through the garbage and makes a who lotta mess. Although they are not able to keep suggies as pets, they are aware of the intelligence that suggies posses. It's just a matter of them respecting the nature and creature. It's good to have some illegalities and needing of license to keep certain pets, or else the whole world would end up hurting more creatures than actually saving them. QUOTE(ggMing @ Mar 3 2008, 03:44 PM) hi all... have a problem with my joey... i tried bonding with her in my washroom.. which is an enclosed space with nothing in it... i put her there and went to a smoke... when i return, of course, in a new surrounding, she is cranky... when i went inside, my joey actually charge towards me.. is this normal, she has crab at me before but neer charge... this time, looks like she is real pissed... QUOTE(ggMing @ Mar 3 2008, 04:55 PM) been keeping her for a week only... yes i do put my shirt on her cage... i play with her whenever i can... i try to play with her all the time... she does not like to crawl on me.. she would rather venture herself around than to stay on me.. Your joey is very new to you. 1 week is merely nothing to achieve lar. Bonding needs more than 2 weeks, sometimes even months. You should start with smaller enclosure like a tent or by just carrying her around while she is sleeping. Until she is really comfortable with you only you can start handling and such. Everything needs patience and persistance when dealing with gliders. QUOTE(saramic @ Mar 3 2008, 10:14 PM) theres still 1 thing i wud like to noe... whom shall i contact to get the calcium supp? i read it but cant remember where/which page? i do feed them plain low fat yogurt mixed wif lots of fresh fruits wenever i can & hv the time but my work sumtimes takes me away for more than 12hrs so the calcium powder will be much easier for my not so rajin in the kitchen bf.... oh ya & at wat age do suggies start barking? my qiqi is bout 3mths now & has started barking everyday for the past 3days at 6am. I've only had her for 10days.... Calcium supplement is not a substitude to fresh fruits. Fresh fruits is a must daily. Joeys can bark as early as few weeks Out Of Pouch. So at 3 months, it's not something to be surprised of. They will bark to get your attention or to tell you something is not right. QUOTE(buttercup07 @ Mar 4 2008, 02:32 AM) Hun n KP...need help on this i bought a new cage already...hehe..d biggest u can find in pet safari and they gave me 1 free sugar glider holistic food...kinda like pellet can i feed it to my gliders? here are d ingredients... » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Guaranteed Analysis CRUDE PROTEIN 25% Min, CRUDE FIBRE 1.5% Max, Crude Fat 12% min, Moisture 10% max..Product of Australia i will upload d pixxie of d thing soon...can i feed it to my gliders? Is the brand Quicko? I wouldn't recommend any glider food bought from Pet Safari, found no actual recommendation about it even in the overseas. I have no idea where did they even get the info about that food... You can try if you want to, but like I told you before, some suggies wont even like it. KP |

QUOTE(ggMing @ Mar 4 2008, 09:20 PM) anyway, guys, my glider seem to love sleeping a lot... do you guys wake you glider up and play with them or you wait till they are awake? It's veryyy normal for gliders to sleep a lot during the day. They are creatures of the night anyway... If you stay up till 12 or 2 am, put them in a dark area, you'll be able to cathc how active they are during this time. During the day it is okay to wake them up for short playtime but do make sure your glider is already comfortable with you and knows you as their safest tree. Or else doing so will only cause more stress to them. QUOTE(ayiesz @ Mar 5 2008, 01:40 AM) When... Soon... Where... Still deciding either Dr. Yeoh or Dr. Jenny... Haha, map? Google earth! QUOTE(emino @ Mar 5 2008, 01:53 AM) Very interested. But need to see in a few weeks since was overbudget sikit hehe. Waiting for my credit card to arrive to ease my pain Haha, I'm on a tight budget too, but I don't wanna risk him being sexually active soon and ter-breed or something... After finalizing the place I let you know kay QUOTE(buttercup07 @ Mar 5 2008, 01:54 AM) i gutload my meal worms with the oat by Quaker.. is it good ? it stated there 100% oat and it stated there "membantu mengurangkan cholestrol..something liddat lah...ok o not ? It should be fine as long as the oat is not fed to the glider... Nanti if I get hold of some oats, I'll take pix of the pack and post it here KP |
