It's veryyy normal for gliders to sleep a lot during the day. They are creatures of the night anyway...

If you stay up till 12 or 2 am, put them in a dark area, you'll be able to cathc how active they are during this time.

During the day it is okay to wake them up for short playtime but do make sure your glider is already comfortable with you and knows you as their safest tree. Or else doing so will only cause more stress to them.
When... Soon...

Where... Still deciding either Dr. Yeoh or Dr. Jenny...

Haha, map? Google earth! tongue.gif
Haha, I'm on a tight budget too, but I don't wanna risk him being sexually active soon and ter-breed or something...

After finalizing the place I let you know kay smile.gif
It should be fine as long as the oat is not fed to the glider...

Nanti if I get hold of some oats, I'll take pix of the pack and post it here smile.gif

That's a wild glider.
Did u know that before u make the purchase??
It's take a longer time n much more courage to tame them.
Not impossible.
How much n where did u get it??
The cage is kinda small for them.
They need a bigger space to play.
Hehe,just sharing some info.

Hahaha,when u r obsessed with something it's not impossible.
LOL!!
U can differentiate them with their colour n their fur.
Those from the wild are mostly tainted.
They dun look too heatlhy too.
The fur is a bit too thin

Adult gliders n wild adults are totally different.
This is from the jungle, not captive breed.
Very wild.
U can't feed them mealworm with ur hand, they'll attact the worm together with ur hand.

o

Try not to give only oats... Actually, oats is like a bedding only and also filler. You should be gutloading with veggies and dry catfood or dogfood.

Yes, you bought my GliderSlurp that day. Most gliders and joeys love it, some may need some coaxing but overall good stuff for gliders. You will see your joey grow fatter in no time hehehe..

That cage for those 2 adults is soooo smalll...... For the wellbeing the gliders, do get a bigger cage.

Captive bred gliders, be it adults or joeys will never bite till draw blood. Only wild and terrified adult gliders would coz they are so freaking scared by us. Bonding with adults is possible but takes loads of time and patience. Never expect a wild adult to be tame and wanna stay on your shoulder in a few days or a week. It could take months to gain a proper bond and trust.

Came across one of these guys sometime back. He was a wild caught, from Papuan regions I was told. The interesting thing about them is the natural stripes (or the lack of) when compared to pet suggies we get to see so often. The copper-tone fur is another interesting characteristic. It's not due to prolonged exposure to their pee, like those normally found in the pet shops. The fur of the guy I saw was also rather thin, just like yours. Not really sure if that is a bad sign, or just another characteristic that sets apart a wild sugar glider from a common one.

Only thing for sure is that it's not impossible to tame wild sugar gliders. But it will take a special kind of patience and commitment like Hun said. Just be careful so as not to freak the poor thing out too much. Keep it comfy, feed it well and hope for the best!

P/s: Does anyone in here know if they're actually from different subspecies? Tried Google, not much can be found.

There are 7 sub-species of sugar gliders, 3 are in Aussie...I know there is a sub species which some of us may have.... comes from the Biak Islands in Indonesia.... but I can't find pictures or details about them.

That is glider gugu. tongue.gif

Actually it's not safe for them to play with water, but mine is a bit weird coz he love water from the first day he was brought home. That's why you see benben's fur is more fair than sasa's fur.

Can't really tell how old they are.
It's not too bad considering they'll let u rubbed them.

Normally males are more aggressive compared to females so it's pretty normal.
U just need to deal with them patiently.
It seriously takes time.
Carry them during the day with u.
Let them get used to ur smell.

Har? Mudah.com.... that guy claims his gliders young joeys.... well, somehow joeys don't turn brown so fast when 4 months old, they will still be grey.... they could be older than the age he told you. Well, I'm just speaking from observation coz I saw those wild ones in Petaling Street before, they were like yours....

Anyway, the only way you can train them to bond with you is to get a bonding pouch and carry them around with you. Please read the 1st page on the basic things you would need.

Normally the joeys will be slightly tainted due to the fact that they nurse from their mom n always stick their head into the mom's pouch.
But it's just a slight taint on their shoulder.
Urs is a heavy taint.
It will take years to shed off the brownish colour.
