not really like this, at most 6.5/10 from me. actions were non-stop from start to finish but there were some flaws from here and there.
1) smaug went down way too easily. the whole chapter 2 talk about smaug and he went down in like 10 minutes from the start. would prefer smaug to struggle a bit but » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « 2) what the hell is wrong with those eagles, always come so late. and they seem invincible, 3 combine army of elves, human and dwarf can barely hold against orcs but an army of eagles totally destroy them easily. and yeah, where the hell all the bats gone. 3) a bunch of fisherman can fight on equal ground with orcs, meanwhile 2 war races elves and dwarf almost lost their entire army. 4) what happen to king of ironfoot towards the end? would prefer extended version to at least story a bit |

QUOTE(peinsama @ Dec 22 2014, 01:03 PM) thanks for the explanation, still not satisfy with the way smaug killed though. at least bolg and azog show much resistance, smaug practically a shooting practice for bard. again thanks, peter jackson have much time to show cheesy moment between thranduil and legolas, thranduil and tauriel, and tauriel with fili (or kili) but show nothing on king dain. |

umm, kinda dissapointing imo. the whole trilogy, by the time i finish the movie, i dono half the characther names.
unlike LOTR where they are well developed, until the end, so happy see everyone united, and by second movie already can know everybody name. both trilogy have a long run time too, although i know this is children book, i think they push it too much. When the movie end, totally no emotional impact at all lol. macam, end. end lulz. Bye dwafs. yo bb bilbo. bb END |

Is this the best in Hobbit series? Feels a bit bored.
All fight for gold, then the Dwaft stay camping the castle to look after the gold = bored Human so stupid and useless = bored Elf so arrogant, fight at begging then become sad and retreat = bored Dwaft later go out from the castle & fight like God = unconvincing & bored After the 4 Dwaft go up hill and fight even more like a godlike = even more bored Then the 4 Dwaft get kill one by one = This is really not necessary & bored Orc leader plan was so useless and not really a good fighter = bored Seems like this ep is all about Dwaft, and that's that's why it's really bored. Only fun part is when the Dain come out, really humorous and fight like a warrior, although they're a bit of unreasonable. This post has been edited by InF.anime: Dec 23 2014, 02:21 AM |

Though I did say this movie was osem, there are some things that I take note of:
1. The title should be "THORIN: Battle Of The Five Armies" since almost 80% of the movie is about him instead of Bilbo 2. Bad guys will always lose whenever "the Eagles are coming." Eagles are too IMBA lol 3. Bag Ends is pretty much the most invincible place on Middle Earth. No one EVER dares to attack there (since pretty damn far too haha) |

What’s up, ya’ll?
Hope you are doing good, if not great! I watched it last week and thought this final chapter was … 1st of all, just like everyone else, I didn’t think that something as majestic and full of rage as Smaug, of which the ending of the previous chapter was done abruptly just to stir our curiosity to know how Laketown will be blown away to kingdom come; would bite the dust in such a fashion. Never mind that it died so soon in the movie because that’s what supposed to happen and this final chapter is all on the upcoming battle of the 5 races but for Smaug to die in such a way? Oh dear… I thought that was a preview itself of how the whole movie is going to be. The main characters, in this movie, only had me acknowledge their presence, at best. It didn’t make me care for them in the way I did for Frodo, Aragon and etc. They showed up, one by one, and I told myself, “Oh. There you are…” Personally, I felt that there was more “Umph” playing the 2006’s The Battle for Middle-earth or its sequel, The Rise of the Witch-king, than watching the 4 ground races and 1 aerial race on the battlefield. Saving grace? The pace of this final chapter! I like it more than its predecessors. Battle of the Five Armies (2014) was TASTELESS and FORGETFUL for me. If you haven’t watched it, well, you’re not missing out on anything. Just wait for the DVD or you-know-what. Blessed Christmas, ya’ll. |

Battle logic aside, I thoroughly enjoyed the movie for the action.
I guess the side-romance is just to capture the female audiences lah. Was kinda touched by Tauriel's "cheesy" lines. |

Azgog should not have come so early and let the dwarves, elves and men kill each other first before attacking.

Wait till they pull out anything from Silmarillion especially the Children of Hurin saga. I haven't read Hobbit but finished LOTR and Silmarillion (both books lost from my possession).

Don't really enjoyed it, feels a little too expected for me though this should be as well.
The dragon part really potong steam despite all the build up for the 3rd chapter from the immortal like dragon. But all in all, i get to see Thranduil, Galadriel, Saruman and Elrond was really cool. Never knew Galadriel was so powerful that both Saruman and Elrond also afraid. Brb google about her |
