Eh thanks... so for PS3 picture good is it? Well, at 7k its 2k above my budget. No lah I don't think I will get it. Spend spend but must take care also. 5k is my limit... have to cari another one.

If you're looking at 40"/42" that supports 1080p at 5k budget, then you should look at Samsung / LG offferings.

Else, you can try Phillips 42PFL7432/98 for a little over 5k at the moment.

AVS HD 709 calibration tool is as good as any comercial calibration tools selling out there. Just remember if you use this, you must buy the blue filter in order to do the color calibration, otherwise you can only calibrate black and white levels only....thinking of getting Datacolor SpyderTV or Spyder2...learning new stuffs are really fun...

One more thing to remember if you use PS3 as a hardware, either you calibrate it to be good for movies or to be good as playing games as you can't have both.

If you want to calibrate PS3 to be good for movies make sure RGB set to limit as AVS HD 709 black levels are set to 16 - 235. If you choose RGB to be set to FULL, the AVS HD 709 won't calibrate the black level properly as RGB Full black levels are set to 0 - 255. BD output HDMI set to Y Pb Pr not Automatic.

thanks bro. Some guys were saying that 1080p not really an issue because most games on ps3 runs at 720... is this true?

Anyway, looking for that phillips model you mentioned..maybe try to get la. Someone was saying actually biggest manufacturer is Samsung and Sharp for Japanese model...but that Samsung quality going down. Donno how true la, but whatever the case, I must get my tv by this weekend. Otherwise die cannot play gta4.

i've check out the Phillips at ewarehouse http://www.ewarehouse.com.my/webshaper/sto...ProductItem=393
apparently contrast is 8000:1 and response time is 8ms.

Someone was saying to go for 5ms... and if possible 10000:1, but would the phillips stats be that bad for ps3? btw, its RM5399... if there's a real shop I rather go there and buy though.

Can the AVS HD 709 calibration tool calibrate brightness and correct colour temperature?

Sorry, I'm no gamer. smile.gif But you did mention Bluray. So I assume you want 1080p.

Hmmm, my W400A is 8ms panel... How? biggrin.gif

Best is to go to Besk Denki, Harvey Norman etc to audition the set. See if you like it. Then buy somewhere else where it's cheaper.

AVS HD 709 is one of the best calibration tool, it can do everything i.e black and white levels, color correction, sharpness, overscan and gamma. It can be used with or without any calibration devices. I've already ordered Spyder 2 colorimeter to get better accurate calibration.

It seems to be full HD, but what is the purpose to buy a Full HD on a 37" LCD TV? Get at least 42", or the very least 40".

Unless you are sitting very near then that other story already
