Just to update you guys that because I got a lot of input from board and friends, below 40" no point buying full hd. And 37" is ideal for my room right now because of viewing distance. So at first opted for phillips 37TA2800, quite ok specs at RM3350 from ewarehouse. Then because of some reason, they brought it to my house yesterday without the screws. So basically I also kena screwed cannot play GTA4. Anyway, discuss with them and came to the conclusion that this model going to be phased out and looks old. So got Sharp 37A33m instead for RM3690. Woo hoo... read the review in nst last month. So quite new la. Got it today and can now play my ps3 for the very first time.

hey guys, i know you've seen these questions popup like a gazillion times here but anyways, its time for me to splurge on an LCD TV. budget is very limited (max RM3500) so no 1080p native res sets. currently narrowed down to these 3: LG 37LC7R toshiba 37AV500E/37A3500E (dunno whats the difference? only the 37A3500E is listed in toshibas website) sharp LC37PX5M i know these are considered obsolete models that are being phased out but prices are really tumbling down now. right now im eyeing the LG as i saw it being demoed in best denki running blu-ray few weeks back. PQ is quite good and i know it uses S-IPS panel (some say it has faroudja upscaling, not too sure), but im unsure of LG warranty. anyone owns an LG set here? second will be the sharp as ive heard quite a lot of good reviews on their lcd tvs. the toshiba is a big question mark. anyone know where i can demo it? appreciate your feedback, thanx in advance

Guys, would u recommend is Philips good enough for the PS3? Been looking at the Price, and I think its solid a Full HD HDTV. Are there any other suggestions that I could look at? I'm looking for a Full HD, 40 or 42inch at 5k to 6k of price. Thanks.

Yap , i have tried the NEC NP 100 projector. Very good for a small projector. But you need a room with good lighting environment.

guys, what is the color depth of an lcd tv?? most brands do not show the color depth spec. i also note that color gradation in LCD TV is really poor as compared to normal crt or lcd monitor. i heard most lcd tv using 8 bit to represent RGB giving only 16.7M colors. see Wikipedia on 8 bit RGBIs that so even in FULL HD LCD TV?

If the price between u'r model and the latest Sony and LG is not that big, then.... well, u didn't get screwed. You just made a misinformed decision on your purchase. If you're happy with the picture you're getting, just be happy with it. The specs keep getting higher but that doesn't always equate to better picture quality. I know how u feel, u kept thinking that u should have gotten the Sony or the LG.. oh well, if u can't get an exchange, just live with u'r new purchase.
