guys aka otai2 LCD, please help me to choose between this model, after I go through Harvey Norman and made my selection, it's down to this model, and forgot to say, I need Full HD as my main usage was for PS3 and Blu-Ray movie:
1. Sony BRAVIA KLV-40V400A Price: RM4999.00 Size: 40" 2. Toshiba REGZA 42RV500E Price: RM4499.00 Size: 42" 3. Panasonic VIERA TX-42LZ80MK Price: RM4499.00 Size: 42" 4. Sharp AQUOS LC37A65M Price: RM3899.00 Size: 37" 5. LG80FR Price: RM4800.00 (if I not mistaken) Size: 42" what my main concern is I need LCD that can give satisfaction when gaming and blu-ray, I don't really expert on contrast ratio thing, it should be the higher contrast ratio, the better picture view right? also, all those model that i choose was below RM5k, and someone did mention, if you want to feel the power of full HD, the screen has to be 40" and above, so does this mean there will be no different if I choose 37" full HD and normal 37" HD Ready? Hope you guys can help me since I plan to buy one during this weekend, already went to Harvey Norman Sunway today to look at the LCD...but as they display all the model while playing DVD, I can't see the full power of Full HD... Samsung 32A550 is BEST value since it is very good for gamers who also wants fast response time, refresh rate and highest resolution (FullHD). Btw, what is the going price for 32A550 now? just upgraded to 16:9? well it's time to upgrade again.
QUOTE Philips premieres the ultimate home cinematic viewing experience with the Cinema 21:9 LCD TV Philips breaks new ground in the realm of home entertainment with the world’s first cinema-proportioned LCD television. Cinema 21:9 lets you enjoy movies as you would in the cinema and just as the director intended. Cinema 21:9 boasts a 56” screen that is shaped in the 21:9 aspect ratio, so movies in the 2.39:1 format completely fill the screen – exactly as you experience at the cinema. Complimentary three-sided Ambilight Spectra combines with the on-screen action to completely immerse you in the movie and deliver the ultimate home cinematic viewing experience. ![]() Traditional LCD televisions compromise on this experience by distorting the picture to fill the screen – losing the full scope of the original shot – or by displaying the picture in letterbox format with black bars at the top and bottom. Cinema 21:9 solves these issues to give the viewer an uncompromised and absorbing cinematic viewing experience, never before available in the home. Using highly advanced formatting technology, regular 16:9 content from sources such as TV broadcasts and games consoles is also adapted to fill the 21:9 screen. Des Power, Senior Vice President Marketing Television, Philips Consumer Lifestyle, commented: “With our unique Cinema 21:9 we have developed a television which takes you as close to the experience that you enjoy at the cinema as you can get without buying a ticket. We believe that to really become absorbed in watching a film at home consumers are looking for a real cinematic viewing experience, so we have launched the world’s first cinema-proportioned TV screen perfectly complemented by our immersive Ambilight technology.” He added, “Philips new Cinema 21:9 takes enjoying movies at home to an entirely new level, the advantages over a traditional 16:9 ratio screen in side by side comparisons are truly striking.” The Cinema 21:9 LCD TV will be available in spring 2009. More detailed product specifications will follow at the end of February 2009. http://news.teamxbox.com/xbox/18597/Sixtee...ns-Are-So-2008/ |

Click me for the LCD specs link LG is a pretty damn good LCD and Plasma manufacturer. Infact personally its better than Samsuck and Toshitba(sorry I've had too many bad experiences with these 2). Right up there with Sharp and Phillips on LCD TVs. Will be a wise choice to bring your PS3 along and then check it out on how well it looks first though. |

In the past widescreen CRT TVs were popular. That's during 1998 i think when they demoed Tekken 3 using the PSX.
