Guys, would u recommend is Philips good enough for the PS3? Been looking at the Price, and I think its solid a Full HD HDTV. Are there any other suggestions that I could look at?
I'm looking for a Full HD, 40 or 42inch at 5k to 6k of price. Thanks. |

QUOTE(advocado @ Jun 2 2008, 03:33 PM) I would like to know does it make big difference whether a Computer Monitor can out put Full HD or less than Full HD for smaller size around 20" to 24". FUll HD LCD TV at 4k is quite hard to obtain, I've never seen it btw. Even the premium Sony S and V Series won't go that low of a price. Also do we need Monitor to have HDCP if planning to use it on a PS3? Another question, what are the options for Full HD TV that's under RM4000? I saw a toshiba Regza 32" is selling at US999, not sure the price and availability over here. |

The KLV-40V400A is now out and launched by Sony. The 40 Incher V Series is the one with Full HD, but I'm more interested on the 42 V Series.
Anybody found out the price yet? |

Really? I think its not launched yet or something, cuz i remember there's a V Series that was 42.
I'll check the catalog again and see if it is still otw or something. Edit: Ah, my apologies on this/ I realised there's no 42 incher for Bravia. My bad. This post has been edited by Kyoyagami: Jul 8 2008, 11:20 AM |

They have a launch on the 40 inch Full Hd V Series. And they have road show from 9th to 13th at 1 utama. Thinking of going there to prove to my parents the worth of Full HD! |

Dun worry, for sure i will explain kaw kaw punya.
Even my dad thought the Philips 32 incher going at 1500 was great enough for me to buy for them. But immediately I said it wasn't enough. Also, I noticed there's a guidebook for to buy LCD tv's on Sony's website. The read is good and basic, though it does promote a bit on Bravia though. Ok I admit, a lot. |

Ah dang. Hoped to request for the roadshow at 1 utama on this weekend to have a demo of casino royale. The quality felt uber, but I think i could find better movies to compare with it.
Suggestions? |

When viewing CR007 on a 32 incher D series last time, the 100hz really showed spectacularism for me. Then i compared with the W series and realize that the contrast was a bit better on the W.
Anyone been to 1 utama recently? |

After going to 1 utama yesterday for the Sony roadshow, I made a simple comparison between the panels around me that was shown.
I was tad a bit late on catching the GT 5P demo on the tv's, yet snagged to watch some football action which i think was ok. Overall, the 40S400A is a little bit jaggier compared to the 40V400A. So, for 500 extra, ur choosing to get less jaggies for ur tv. The looking at the W series, maybe I'm wrong, but the 40W seems nearly similar to the V series. so, adding another 2k to the price might make u go yaya. But that is considering the fact that I'm unsure if 100Hz is present on the 40W. Overall, I'm satisfied with the 40V400A. Saving the money up right now. |

QUOTE(jchue73 @ Jul 30 2008, 03:15 PM) Is the 32" W400A available in Malaysia? I remember during the roadshow it was displayed. And the price was 4k sumthing. |

Even in stock clearance areas, it doesn't seem to be going down that much. lowest I've seen so far is around 1300.
Just got poisoned on PV80, but should i also go for a LCD Tv for PS3? Cuz if that's the case, I'm gonna be dead broke. |

QUOTE(99below0 @ Aug 25 2008, 02:48 PM) With a budget of under 1k you're probably better off getting a good second-hand 34" Panasonic or Sony CRT (with 100hz). It'll be a lot, LOT better than trying to use an ultra-budget LCD TV (with ghosting, view angle and contrast issues). It still amazes me how good my old CRT looks compared to my LCD TV. Actually, PV80 is just for Astro only. Since PV80 is quite cheap for my budget, I could just snap myself up with a new LCD panel for my PC and PS3, since i'm still using CRT for my PC. But I think I'm still ok with a new CRT since it's just for Astro. For bluray, I might have to reconsider again. |

Its actually true when we say we believe in our eyes. Try looking at the setup menu in the LCD TV, and bring ur desired Blu Ray or HD content to be viewed. Better yet, bring your own seperate PS3 if you have one and then try it out.
Then you will believe why it should be about believing your eyes. |
