1) Its probably assessable income. Check your casebook, there will be cases right on point. Question is how much, what the franchisor got it for or the market value. You will find the answer in your textbook.

2) When is the second payment accrued? Read your notes as to when income is accrued and you'll find your answer.

UNSW Computing is now trialling online video delivery of lectures much like what UC Berkeley and MIT is doing in the US. Here's a complete lecture for first year Computing.

P.S. The Windows mishaps were intentional, just to gauge student response.

C for 1st year? Aren't you guys lucky. I had LISP. *shudder*

Sitting with someone else through..........don't think it'd work for me. I don't make new friends well or easily.

Yeah, I had Haskell and C in 1st year, last batch to do so. After that, they revamped the program to only teach C in 1st year, but more in depth (data structures, etc.). However, they had to sacrifice functional programming now that they will be solely in imperative territory.

I think 1st year is the best opportunity to make new friends. I got to know most of my friends in 1st year as everyone is fresh and new and haven't formed their cliques, so it's easy to get along and know who you want to spend your time at uni with.

one hour lecture ... not going to watch it ... anyway is there a person like handling the camera or whatsoever ? or is it just fixed there... cause UWA uses an automated system that catches everything with the exception of the whiteboard/blackboards..

Hi guys,

I'm planning to further studies (in MBA). Currently, I'm holding a Electronics degree with 3 years exp. If I goto Australia :

1) Can I bring my wife there too (no dependents)?

2) Can she work full-time (as an accountant)?

3) After graduation (maybe 2-years time), can I stay and work in Australia? How hard is it?

4) In the UK, an international student will get 1-year working permit upon completion of masters. Is there something similar in Australia?

Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks!

well depends, high tech lecture theatre has like at least 4 cameras, angled at different direction(of course you can changed the position of the each individual camera). So i guess it's just fixed up to the wall and records everything if you want it.
Here in my uni of adelaide, the flentje lecture theatre has like 4 computer screens on the lecturer's bench.

haya, well at least i'm lucky in my programme at least 3 Malaysian doing the same programme as me, and also another is a Sarawakian so which is good, anyway KVReninem you're right there's alot of sarawakian here.

snowcandy rclxms.gif yup nice weather till Monday! Anyway Happy Easter people, heaps of assigment to do and also academic readings for me. phew.....

december88, what course are you doing again? Nice to see so many fellow Sarawakians here, even if most of them seem to be in Perth and Adelaide.

What easter break? I'll be slaving over C# classes, cryptology, privy council, common law (amazing what 2 words can strech to) and that's just the begining.

If you are coming in to study MBA, your wife can come as tourist visa.
Your case about your wife working as accountant, i suggest you go thru skilled migration visa bcos accounting still in demand.
Try to consult a legal agent in malaysia if you wish to proceed further on bringing in your wife and getting pr, this is studying in aus sir and i have limited of info on this icon_rolleyes.gif

Hi guys,

Thanks for the advice. It seems I have 2-options. To go there with "student VISA" or under "skilled migrant VISA".
I've gone thru the website and need some advice.

1) If I apply student VISA (much cheaper compared to migrant worker) and bring my wife, can she work there (Caufield) as an accountant? If so, how many hours per week?

Quote "Family members of students enrolled in Masters by coursework can work unlimited hours once the student starts their main course."

Another quote "Your family members must:

...
-work no more than 20 hours per week
...
"

http://www.immi.gov.au/students/students/573-1/index.htm
http://www.immi.gov.au/students/students/5...-visa-works.htm
http://www.immi.gov.au/students/students/5...ions-family.htm

2) How to get accountant skills accessed in Malaysia ?
http://www.immi.gov.au/asri/occupations/a/...ant-2211-11.htm

Once I graduate (2 years time), then maybe i'll apply for "skilled working" VISA, cause I will have more points by then smile.gif
