1) well you found the answer, but i would like to point out tat if you planning to bring your wife in and since she is in accounting, try see if the big 4(PWC,E&Y...)  have any vacancy in melb or upon arrival then search. there is many ways to come in anyway.

2) skill assesment might take time unless.

anyway

Hi KV,

Thx for the info. I think she'll search for a job there once we get there in AUS. She worked for PWC KL sometime ago...

I will be going there to study full time with student VISA (and not mainly working as some of you might have misunderstood). My wife (which has CPA) will be accompanying me there, and will be trying to search for a job while my course duration. Since I'm doing postgrad, then she can work there 'unlimited hours' (will confirm with AUS again).

According to the points calculation, my wife barely passes (not in the sinking pool). If I study there for 2 years (with her working there), then we can definitely get more points.

Yes, I'm considering UK too (UK study fair this weekend in KLCC), but it is rather pricey. An MBA course in UK would cost ~120k, while in AUS its ~70k. Not sure whether the cost of living might actually offset the lower fees in AUS... Any "study in australia" fair in KL?

The day he rose again...Happy Easter!

wow PWC...try ask HR in PWC if she can go sort of like crossposting to melb for work or smth ...coz this big Four is here..and melb has one, just right at southbank.
besides, i`m not sure if there is large pool of people coming in for accounting anymore coz current issue due to the global financial crisis...so well try your luck smile.gif

Nah... Melbourne's boring.
The only thing that might spark a little interest is the Game On exhibition at Fed Square where they display various kinds of video games from the late 70s and 80s. Need to pay 10 bucks though... don't really feel like going anyway, might just go if there's really nothing to do.

Going to slack for one more day before attempting to study tongue.gif

Education fair... hm... even if there's none, one could just step into IDP or AusEd and ask for information. IDP's really helpful although sometimes the service can be frustrating esp during peak times.

Same here, most of my gang is either in UK or back in Msia...
No worries. You have us here in LYN rclxm9.gif

Indeed. IDP only gets you into the uni (for free tongue.gif) and you have to settle everything else, including accomodations.

Hmm, I'm not sure about IDP, IDP(kuching branch) has given me a poor image of their service. I apply my uni through MMS. which i took me alot less time to settled my application(my EcoE approved within a day, got my pdf format 2 days later), visas(got my visa approved around 3 days).... I don't mean to promote any education dept. but I just wanna to share my experience when i apply for uni. rclxms.gif tongue.gif

Wooo !! Australian National University replied me.
I'm given a 1.5 years of exemption if I complete my diploma and maintain the CGPA.

XD But I'm still waiting for UNSW to reply me smile.gif
Is it wise to do that ?

Because I applied 5 universities. XD

------- EDITED -------
Actually it's the guy I spoke to in the education fair from ANU emailed.
Should I expect a official letter from the University?
