From what I read, one party's manifesto states the suspension of repayments for those earning below RM4k/month while another party's manifesto is to scrap it all together. The latter to me is farfetched by miles..

Anybody read the manifesto or are up to date can confirm this?

It's just a manifesto. Don't put high hope.
Till it is being presented in the coming budget, then you can see more hope.

Not even planing to put any sweat.gif
Unlike the black sheep reported on the news, I'm grateful to receive PTPTN to further my studies therefore I'm happy to repay my PTPTN loan regardless of discount in which I have no objections to rclxms.gif ..

The too good to be true manifestos reflects the maturity of the country's politician as well as the citizens.. unsure.gif

I'm more than happy to pay back and if it's scrapped off of course it's a better thing to me. laugh.gif

So I will continue paying with my credit card every month to earn cash back. icon_rolleyes.gif

As much as I don't want to bring in political issue into this topic but I will rather give chance to a new change than being stagnant with what it is now.

Till GE14 is conluded, there's no government for the mean time.
Whatever is in the manifesto is merely a promise. Don't hogging over till.
You'll get a clearer picture once dusts are settled when a new government is elected and a new whole Budget 2018 is presented.
Whether PTPTN will be in that particular budget, it's still unclear.

Not for ccris record.

big news yesterday for ptptn loaners

KUALA LUMPUR, July 23 — The government will not blacklist Malaysians who default on their loans from the National Higher Education Fund (PTPTN) from leaving the country.

Only those who have been declared bankrupts — not those who have been inconsistent with payments — may be blacklisted.

best to blacklist those ppl, bar them from going overseas, bar them from epf savings. chances has been given (govt essentially lent them interest free loan but still refuse to pay back)

take a look at USA and see how lucky you are to receive basically interest free loans.

I did mention 'almost' interest free. Not free. No one is going to give you free money, maybe except BN. whistling.gif
