Hey all, would like to know:

Q1: My total loan = RM57,750
monthly installment payback = RM288.75
Total ujrah = 0.01*57750*20yrs = RM11,550
monthly ujrah = RM48
Means when pay back min amount = RM288.75 + RM48?

Q2:
ptptn defaulters
QUOTE
A borrower was categorised as a persistent defaulter if he had not made a single payment for a period of three years,
“Someone whose payment is one-month overdue or who even fails to pay for up to one year is not considered a persistent defaulter"

ptptn-ccris
QUOTE
SOALAN 10
Siapakah yang akan disenaraikan dalam CCRIS?
Jawapan

Meaning if i didnt pay for within 1st 3 years, my record is still clean on ccris? anyone here check their ccris not paying ptptn? how it affect applying housing loan and stuff?

Q3:
so im guessing the only way to reduce burden is reduce the years pay back (1% ujrah/year) and also the 20% incentive discount. any other way?

OK, my tunggakan is 0. Well, I also adjusted recently because I used to pay one lump sum and stopped for few months. They just barred me from travelling overseas, went and clarified, settled tunggakan and unbarred. Need this to be unbarred as my job requires me to travel extensively.

Now I'm ahead of schedule of 18 months.

oooo... how many months didnt pay til they barred you? and what you mean you ahead of schedule of 18 months, coz initially i thought they still see if you pay installment every month regardless if you pay extra or not on the previous months.

sry, little knowledge in this..

I want to share my method of repayment.

Previously PTPTN offered 20% on total repayment, but I didn't have enough cash lying around.

This time around, they offer 15% discount for full repayment.

My current balance is close to RM 24k (total loan was RM 80k taken in 2006, began paying in 2010. My degree was RM 104k at the time, so I got the maximum 80k loan offered). I've been consistently paying off more than I should (for the last 1.5 years I paid RM 1500 monthly)

Currently HSBC has this offer - apply for a new credit card, and get RM 15k, at zero percent interest. Repayment is 10 months.[U]

For existing HSBC members, you can only get max 10k.

I already have a HSBC account and card (used that for balance transfer previously) so I will take up the Max 10k, add on extra RM 12-13k from savings (which is just lying there and not being invested), and pay off PTPTN.

Later, I will only need to pay RM 1 k per month to HSBC for the next 10 months and I'm CLEAR! No more PTPTN Loan!!

Usual loan repayment schedule is RM 460 for 20 years. I chose to pay off earlier since it is based on reducing balance. I did not opt for Ujrah, because I was paying off faster than the schedule. I also made sure to enjoy previous rebates of 10% given from previous Gov Budget.

Point here is, if you need some extra cash = apply for HSBC. THey have limited units remaining so it's something to consider. The card is either a HSBC Amanah Visa or HSBC Visa card (zero annual fee with minimum 12 swipes annually) but I also plan on canceling it as soon as I can because I already have 5 credit cards anyway.

1.5 yrs is still not too bad.

check first your ccris to see how bad it is. if you default 1 month, will have "1" there.. and 2 months, will have "2" and so on.

see your finance capability, if you want to clear it instant or by monthly. ccris update their tables beginning of the month

also, know what you're getting into when apply loan for car/cc
