News to reduce the rates from 3% to 1% was on August 14th 2008, as of today already 9 months passed and anyone of you have receive any new agreement or letter from them? They just keep giving excuses that there's too many people ..

hello can't they be smart abit, those who don't pay back send them letter also they're gonna throw away so what for? it's ppl who are really care to pay like us that minds about this, until today we're still paying 3% and there's no changes at all, they should send to those who pay and for those who don't serve them right ..

if you choose not to pay, you're just being an idiot which is same with those .. not to mention who ..

congratz when one day you were happily married and on the way for honeymoon and the government don't let you leave the country bcos u didn't pay your loan. I feel that what we have borrowed which is not belongs to us, it's best we pay back

Ya, you are right. I don't understand the mentality of people who borrow money from PTPTN. Most of them are highly educated people. Some of them are earning a lot more than me. But, they don't really appreciate it. I think there is something wrong with the education system in Malaysia.

Those ppl are hypocrites, some of them even always criticize what Gov is doing but never realize they are same bunch of ppl.
U need to pay back what u had borrow. Really disgraceful bunch of ppl, i really hope PTPTN will start to take action.

And for those ppl complain about u never finish pay if the interest is 3%, mind u, 3% of interest is consider low.
If PTPTN not borrowed to u, where u gonna borrow from? Bank? How much u gonna pay?

The 1% is a bonus to me.

Ya, agree. In fact, 3 % is considered very low if compared to banks. From what I know, even government servants are charged 4 % if they borrow money from governement to buy house...

Finally manage to payoff all my ptptn loan late last year. But i did pay some surplus which is around RM350. Till now, they still haven't refund me the money back. Anyone know how to chase them?
Btw, once we finish paying up the loan, will we get any letter/etc from them saying that our loan has been terminated/etc?
thanks.

Changing from 3 % to 1 % is not automatically done. We all have to wait for offer letter from PTPTN, sign it and return it to PTPTN...

I have a couple of questions.

I had 2 PTPTN loans (1 for my foundation studies, and 1 for degree).

When I'm doing my degree, I sent a payment deferment form to PTPTN saying that I'm still studying and can only pay the loan for my foundation studies after I completed my degree.

I completed my degree about 3 months ago, got a job, and has started paying back my PTPTN loans. The problem is, they sent me a letter asking me to go to court because according to them, I did not made any payment for my foundation loan since 2007 (which is true) but I did sent them the deferment form saying that I can only pay after I completed my degree (which I did).

Called them up and they said that they did key in the payment deferment for both loans, but they lost the copy of the form for my foundation studies loan, hence the reason they sent me the court letter. They said that I still need to go to the court, and there's nothing that they can do on their side.

So is this my fault if they lost the deferment form?

Another thing, I did my payment via Maybank2u for both loans (with different offer letter #), but they credit all the payments to my foundation studies account. Is this normal? Should I panic?

Hi Mzaidi,

Its ok..I also pay my ptptn loan through CIMB clicks, I choose CIMB because the transcation charges is only RM0.50 compared with RM2.00 charged by Maybank2U (If not mistaken)
As long u have paid and keep the prove, you will be fine.
