Good point there bro. I add one.

If u wan  good camera, LG Viewty will be..
Viewty (@_@)

If for video recording I agree, for still images... I strongly disagree hmm.gif

I've compared the Viewty still images with N82... and the Viewty is inferior to quite a degree compared to the N82 images. And if you add flash... it is REALLY disappointing... even my friend's G600's LEDs does better then the Viewty (@_@). As far as I know the N82's flash is the most powerful amongst all the cameraphones with Xenon Flash.

My 2 cents smile.gif

Hi guys, got some questions here:

1. Where can I download themes for my N82?

2. While I was renaming songs - after keying in the song title, how do I tab to the next field, artiste name?

3. Also, when I scroll up in the song list, it auto selects each song... Each time I come to a song I want to edit / play, I have to UNMARK ALL first... Can overcome this?

4. The original pictures in the Gallery that first came with my phone somehow disappeared on the first day. All the picture files turned into filename Manifest for over 100 pictures and size is 7KB each. If I reset my phone, will it come back? If I reset my phone, will it bring any problems to Garmin Mobile XT which I have already installed and will then need to install again?

5. I'm connected to WiFi and I want to Fring. My gf using her e65 is sitting right next to me and she can connect to Fring while I cannot on my N82, why?

Error message: Could not establish connection to the fring network. Would you like to start automatic search?
I click YES and then it says Testing Connection "my network name" (1/1) and it keeps coming back to the error message again.
I tried like 3 / 4 times.

1. Look or any n95 8gig themes. they shud be similar with n82's.

Have u installed garmin? if u did, it explains Q2 and 3. Garmin somehow screws up the copy paste function, thus, everytime u press the "#" to capitalize a letter, the phone somehow gets screwed up. To solve this, Tab out and back in (press and hold the menu key to tab out and do the same to tab back).

4. Got pictures that came with the phone meh? hmm.gif as far as i could remember, mine dont have anything inside. IF u reset ur phone, it shud be resetting the intenal memory. Garmin is installed in the extenal one rite? So it wun be affected.

5. The latest Fring is buggy. Its in my opinion la. I also hav problems logging in into fring with other wireless network other than my own one at home. The previous version didnt have this problem. Unfortunately, i still cant find any Fring versions that are lower. I plan to switchback to the older version.

hope this helps thumbup.gif

OK, I have Opera and Garmin installed in my Memory Card. I soft reset my phone with *#7370#, then I reconfigure my time zone settings, etc. I realized my Opera and Garmin is still in there because it's installed separately.

Would the Opera and Garmin work like its intended without any problems or do I have to do a re-installation since I soft-reset the phone?

Sorry ya, I'm thinking if we format our PC, we have to reinstall the software kinda thing... Do I have to reinstall these two applications?

IMHO, as an all rounder both N95 8GB and N82 can do the job well. For imaging the balance is slightly over to N82 with xenon flash but taking videos in low light conditions is towards N95 8GB with LED flash light. For multimedia such as video viewing, it is sightly to N95 8GB for its screen size and dedicated media keys.

IMHO, in the comparison, N95 should not be considered. There is only one point besides the price that i can think of that N95 has a slight edge than the N95 8GB. N95 have memory card slot. But 8GB is a plentiful to some people. To compare N95 (N95-1) with N82 is like comparing the 1985 saga with 2008 saga. Price is nearly the same but technology wise, far behind. Anyway thanks to the experience with N95-1, Nokia is where it is now in smartphones.

Phone Video Cam then Viewty will be best (120fps li.. drool.gif )
Camera our Xenon Flash still......the best.. cool2.gif

Other than that, I second .. nod.gif nod.gif

QUOTE(BBXiong @ Feb 12 2008, 09:21 AM)
actually i considered N95 8GB b4, there is some reason that i don wanna buy that phone...
1st of all, my sis is using, so i don wanna make all the confusion between 2 similar phone in one house
secondly, after having my hands on my sis's N95, i think that it's a lil too bulky
also, my personal opinion toward the design for 8GB is, the screen is bigger, but then they cramped all the keys into that small area, making is quite ugly for me...
that the reasons i don wanna get N95 8GB, but it's like what ppl said, it's all about personal opinion

Nice poi BBXiong.. thumbup.gif

OK, some new questions after experimenting with my phone tonight.

1. Google Maps - what does it do? Is it a replacement map to be used with our Garmin app instead of Malsing? Or is it merely just a map, for fun? Which should we download? The .cab or .prc?

2. Expired certificate - what does it mean? I tried to install SmartMovie v3.41 and X-Plore 1.20 and I got this error message. Is there anything I could do about it?

3. ALON MP3 Dictaphone for S60 3rd Edition 2.23 - Buy or download? What's the limitation of the download version? Is this a freeware or shareware?

4. ProfiMail - What's the limitation of the download version? Which web-based (Yahoo, Hotmail, Gmail) mail services provide POP3 / IMAP downloads?

5. How do I convert the 300MB video taken from a N82 to a Youtube friendly video or any other format? Got software for it?

Thank you! notworthy.gif notworthy.gif

Pennywise,

Do you feel the heat from your handset for taking continous 12 mins of video. As for me i can feel warm at the battery area for taking 8 mins of video.
*
Errr... I never noticed any heat when I was taking the video.

QUOTE(chtan @ Feb 10 2008, 12:54 PM)
Just installed the latest Garmin Mobile XT ver4.10.60 with the Malsing latest map ver2.20gold. Work like a charm. No problem lock on the satellite, in fact it is very fast. The map is very detail and the routing is fast as well.

You can find the card id by running the GarminXT, Setting>about. Using the Id to get your key. Save it into a file called SW.UNL (becareful not SW.UNL.TXT). Copy it to your SD garmin folder.

You need another key to unlock the malsing map. Use map id 5061 for the first key and 5062 for the second key to get the map unlock key. With this two key, just put them together (key1+key2 without space in them) and save them into a new file called GMAPSUPP.UNL.
Copy them again to your sd garmin folder and you are set to go.

Remember to register your GarminXT first or you can set to use the internal GPS (default it set to connect to Garmin external GPS unit).
*
Thank you very much... How do I obtain the 2.20 Gold map? Is it through the website?

QUOTE(BBXiong @ Feb 11 2008, 10:34 AM)
let me see, excluding the language select function, it has a very very useful function...mark and unmark
try go into ur video player menu with al the list of songs u have, hold the pen button and press up or down, u can see the songs that u scroll through will be marked
u can use in message also, hold + directional key to mark, then right soft key to copy, if u wanna paste, just hold the pen button again, then after 1-2 secs, the right soft key function will be changed to paste
*
Oh I see... thanks for explaining to me, else I also dont know. I used N70 before this but never used the pen button before. Lolx!

Yes, I have installed Garmin - is this malfunction caused by Garmin or it's a bug since the removal of the pen button?
