Yes ... but they have to be reflective of your name. Supposedly no charges but bear in mind high possibility this means that your credit card account numbers will also change - be prepared to fully justify this change to the bank. Of yes, probably easier if your card is due for a change.

They'll ask a million questions sweat.gif

I've forgot the pin number of my credit card. Is there any way that I can recover the pin? Call the customer service?

The best way is to call the CS. Every bank has its own methodology to recover or reset the PIN.

Thanks for the reply. But, is it safe? I mean the CS probably knows my pin number already.

I highly doubt that. They won't be reviewing your PIN and my guess that they don't know about it.

Perhaps they'll teach a way to reset the PIN or send your with a new PIN.

Give them a call and you'll know better. Prepare for tonnes of question for verification purpose.

Thanks icon_rolleyes.gif BTW, do you have the CS number for CIMB?

Added on March 29, 2008, 11:25 amOh ya, and last question. If I tried to access in, do you think the machine would eat my card if I fail after 3 attempts?

CIMB CS number: 603-6204 7788

CIMB DA CS number: 603-6204 7878

From my experience on CIMB ATM machine with my CIMB ATM card, the machine didn't "swallow" my card at the moment I have reached my maximum retries. The system just disabled my card access.

What ? I'm a supplementary card holder, my mom's the principal and we have both the "free-for-life" CIMB Mastercard and CIMB Petronas Mastercard.
HSBC Visa Platinum is the hardest to get. The minimum annual income is RM150,000. HSBC also have Premier Mastercard. It is not a platinum card but a World Mastercard. This Premier Mastercard is reserved only to HSBC Premier customers. So i believe HSBC platinum/world credit card is the most exclusive credit card in Malaysia besides American Express Platinum Charge Card.
Standard Chartered Visa/Mastercard Platinum is free-for-life if you are their priority banking customer.

lol World Mastercard is a higher status Card then Platinum doh.gif

From my last conversation with CIMB DA, they said something if your PIN is suspenced (blocked) for ATM access, you need to get a replacement card to get new PIN. (something like that).

I have this sticky situation. I requested a PIN for ATM access for my CIMB DA but now, I don't want this access anymore. I asked (called) the CS if this ATM access could be disabled (since it has been activated before). They said that there's no such facility to disable it back from their system and suggested me to purposely key in a wrong PIN till it reaches maximum attempts (at the condition your card or ATM access is so called suspended or blocked). Before ending the call happily or rushy, I also confirmed with if I were to do that (key in a wrong PIN till it reaches maximum attempts) just to deactivate my ATM access. In the future, if I want to have this access back, what shall I do? Should I request a new PIN or what? The telebanker said that I'm not able to do it and I have to replace my current CIMB DA with a new card.

P/S: PIN for ATM access for CIMB and CIMB DA is meant for registering a CIMBClicks Internet Banking. But bear in mind that, this PIN also allows you to perform cash advance facility (in order you have to use it especially when you're on travelling).

the worst credit card should be mbf cards
they force me to pay for transaction by edward mugui travelling to sabah. ( i accidentally paid without knowing) and they argue that i notice late so they have the right to collect the money from me.
the last one is for some china spending spree. this time i caught them in time but they ask me to fax this, fax that, then they reply i still have to pay (ask me to read fine prints again... )and will be sending a bill collector to my door.
such nerve.. i hope the manager comes with the bill collector, i will throw sh*t on him.

In the first case - how could you have paid for something without knowing it ?
Second case - What China spending spree ? Please elaborate your story further.

i normally don't check my letters. I just walk into ambank fill up the form , ask the teller how much i owe them then i pay lor.
and when i find the sum a bit strange, i ask them (mbf not ambank) to print past 5 months bill for me (and they charge me) this edward mugui's name was registered to board airasia flight to sabah multiple times . (about 3k paid ). the last flight was confirmed by airasia that they suspected fraud and cancelled the filght but mbf still charge me. the statement shows only destination to sabah and i called airasia to find out who. (I have never been to sabah before)
second time is when my credit card statement was missing 1 month and the next month it shows that i busted limit at 10k. so i called to ask for printout of previous statement. and heyho, hotel usage in china, all in china. the last time i use the credit card in china was 6 month ago (before the fraud) buying a jade piece for my gf . since i dont have enough rmb to pay, i swipe card lor. (rmb 10k) the shop is one of the goverment company (jade business ) as claimed by the tour guide. returning from the trip,( i pay back the loan) and i check statement every month for 3 month. after that i dont check because never use credit card ma. then on around 5th month, i swipe to buy something (a few k) and then i check statement but statement was missing for that month. so i wait for next months statement. and it shows credit used more than 10k. ( they give me over the limit facility. i.e. limit 10k but i can swipe 11K or more but will be under full payment on next bill)
i have gone to mbf cards office to complain on the first fraud and i went there to update my records (after i also fedup and paid for the 3k). as i am not staying in malaysia, i told them to call me at my number in thailand and gave them address . they never call.

oh.. now i recall. on the first fraud, mbf knew about the fraud. they changed my credit card number without informing me. when i go to pay. they say that the number on my card is not valid and gave me a new number to pay. that is when i start querying and ask them to print 5 months back statement after talking to the teller at ambank.

"how could you have paid for something without knowing it ?" rolleyes.gif
what is wrong with paying without knowing ? i sometimes overpay my credit card by thousand ringgits. tongue.gif
i do that very often ok. i dont like the hassle to go and pay. to me credit card is not for emengency use. i get credit card because of eazy pumping petrol, currency exchange when travelling overseas, my wife wants the points, buy something when i go shopping and don't carry enough cash.
my credit card is sometimes a debit card because i over pay them. mbf offer to increase my limit which i did not apply for. icon_idea.gif ( this was many years ago)

now i hold only 1 card.( foreign bank platinum sup. card) and now company cashier follow up on all my family members credit card statement. i do not get problem with foreign bank credit card. safer and much more friendlier. credit limit? no hassle. just call the hot line and they will increase it on the spot for my purchase. free gift? just open the booklet and choose. points are accumulated togather as family . and double points for platinum.
thumbup.gif thumbup.gif
imho, high credit limit is not good.
