VONAGE HOLDINGS CORP : doing VOiP business, but the run was actually sparks by:

confirmed that demand has been high for its new $24.99 flat rate Vonage Global plan that includes unlimited call to more than 60 countries. The company also confirmed that it plans to enter the mobile application market. Experts comments : With this rate, you are looking at 9 million subscribers over a year quadrupling the growth

From what I have been hearing, new subscriptions have jumped to 25000 a day

nope, I only target few counters, all below $5 for long term growth as well as speculation.

Waiting for my account to be approved, so that I can start trading. KLSE is now a boring place.

just to share, now looking at OREX - came out with obesity drug Contrave (passed 3 clinical trials recently), looking to be a potential takeover target by bigger pharmas, also heavy insider accumulation currently.

also looking at FEED, China's version of Cargill; JASO - China solar cell maker which has long-term contract with BP Solar; HERO - drilling rig operator and APWR, China's version of GE.

VG (Vonage) is a VoIP provider in US. They're pretty popular but been losing money like crazy because phone calls got too cheap and lots of complains. They were under $1 just two days ago. I think the run up is probably not the unlimited 60 countries deal but rumour that a take over may be imminent.

Good for those who managed to buy this thing as speculative play.

Here's another one:

HGSI - This pharmaceutical company that recently had a breakthrough in the trials for lupus disease. Their stocks shot up from $3 to $12 last month and 2 days ago recently pop to $20 on rumor of buyout by Glaxo.
I regretted selling this at $12. sad.gif

Other cheap under $10 speculative plays: CDII, PPDI, PTIE

With over 1000% increase for this year and hitting 52 weeks high,
I think this one has run its course already. I won't buy it.

danmooncake,

<<I regretted selling this at $12. sad.gif>>

1) Why?? You are making money.

2) My RULE in playing this kind of game is to SELL HALF when the price triple.

Assuming that you have 100 shares and you buy at $4. You sell 50 at $12. In this case, you get $600. Even if the remaining 50 become $0, you had made $200 aka 50%. So, you have taken money out of the game. You can wait as long as you want or let it ride higher. You will not lose money anymore. You are playing with banker's money.

Wah, you guys aim quite high volatile stocks.
Usually i aim those big company stocks such as BAC, C and trade options related to it.
Thinking to try find some stocks that can reach double or triple its stock price.
How you guys find such stocks? Thanks smile.gif

So efficient biggrin.gif
Recently, the players seem moving towards insurance stocks. These type of stocks rally up kao kao. For example, AIG almost quadruple dy.
Same as HIG as well.

My strategy for high volatile stocks are for short term keeping..or trading only. Not for long.

BAC and C are definitely for long. biggrin.gif

which counter / one pullback? nothing..
AIG skyrocketing, up 30$ in 3 weeks?

C is up as well. Expecting it to fall below $4.50 today, but recover yesterday's drop.

Added on August 27, 2009, 10:11 pmwith this rate, AIG can reach $100 by year end. Seems cannot stop running.

yes, you can buy 1 share, but that won't justify the commission you paid.

Say C buy at 4.75+ comm 3.95 = $8.70

Properly, you should get at least 100 share (100x4.75 = 475 or RM1,700) or get 500 shares at one shot
