heat produced will be the same for all manufacturer since the card is based on nvidia 8800GT reference card.... the only different from each manufacturer is the cooling solution for it..... which is the best?.... i think gigabyte with VF1000 fan perform quite well... asus glaciator not bad too.... ofcoz 3rd party cooler will be the better if u willing to pay extra rm100-150... for acelero s1/s2 + turbo module...

those with inovated big big fan nowadays shudnt give a heat problem already provided ur internal casing airflow is good enuf..

yup, u can check the benchmark urself and the performance gap only gets larger @ high resolution and if AA and AF is enabled, btw, 256mb cards are not worth to buy nowadays with games now using high resolution textures and all  smile.gif

usually if the distributor or manufacturer cannot detect if u has oced the cards, unless u flashed ur card with different aka modded bios or if u hardmod ur card.. if u just oc through software like rivatuner then it's ok.. rclxms.gif

What I see is there are two version of fans installed on 8800GT (with stock cooler) the XFX uses slightly bigger fan. See difference here between XFX cards and eVGA cards

That's the reason why XFX cards monitors lower temperature

now 8800GT nvidia reference cooling design got 2 type.
One is small fan, another 1 is bigger fan.
So...try to avoid small fan if buying 8800GT

Hi, I've just got a 8800gt 512MB recently, and I have to say that it's an awesome card which is able to run current games at high resolutions with a high frame rate. However, I'm experiencing this problem where my games would occasionly slowdown alot to about 5-6 fps for a few seconds then it's back to normal. It doesn't matter what kind of games it is, whether it's graphically intensive or not. It would even slowdown in Counter-Strike 1.6 which is a really old game. Is there a problem with my card?

no la, that's the 2d clock speed for the card..
when in 2d mode, the card will throttle down to 450/700...
but when u play 3d games, the clockspeed will go to normal 700/1900...
gigabyte set 2 different clockspeed profile in their 8800gt's bios smile.gif
