just wandered into this thread... great info on archery. dint know until now about that place near Shah Alam stadium even tho i've been living in shah alam for more than 12 years oredi.

during college days I used to shoot with a local varsity team, almost made the Sukma team even, but after graduated havent touched the bow in 14 years.

would love to re acquire the form.. hmmm all this while never tried to shoot a compound before.. maybe wanna try it some day.

Finally, an archery thread!

Was a serious archer back in high school. Started college, no more facilities to shoot at.

Anyone can tell me more about Stars Archery @ Sunway Pyramid?

I noticed from pics posted by my friends that the distance is VERY short and the bow is very basic (no stabilizers, sights etc.). Is this true? I was planning to go there to get back into my routine before buying a bow again.

For your information I have bought 5 compound bows direct from usa. not only bows...all kinna stuff related to archery...arrows,release,vanes,tshirt,etc....

Theres no tax on sports archery equipment...period. Only used bows are cheap in usa.if buying new, they are about the same in malaysia as it in the usa..maybe mahal silit saje..but u have local warrnty here.

Added on May 9, 2010, 10:10 pmoh yeah another thing, u dont need special licence for owning a bow. if you purchasing them overseas, u need to be a member of any archery club in malaysia. just produce your club membership card at the custom.

ok I hope my input have help u guys understand more about archery. again do go to malaysian archery forum website for more and better understanding of this beatiful sport. If you guys wanna see some action, theres a upm archery open on the 13-16 this month

cheerssssssssss

I'm also interested in Archery, going to learn soon:lol: this is the info I got.
1) can either go to MSN keramat (near jusco setiawangsa) but bow is not provided must buy our self.
contact 012 2859282 - zallie

2) or can learn at Expert Archery shah alam, bow for beginner is provided during the lesson.
cost RM200 to RM300 for 8 lessons each lesson duration is 2 hours.
You may call Mr Puzi 016-2859205 or email expertarchery@gmail.com for more info.
I was told that beginner can only pull light bow and later have to change bow. rolleyes.gif

I search around the web how to go to Expert Archery using public transport, rapid KL U80 from pasar seni can reach Tesco Shah alam sek. 13 then have to take cab or walk 1.3km to the place. I don't know is there any other transport available because I'm not living there blush.gif

Glad to see this thread is still quite active! Does anybody know if Expert Archery in Shah Alam is still open? I went there last time in 2008 and took a few months of classes but stopped for my studies. I really feel like picking the sport up again. I'm also hopeful but doubtful that some archery ranges or clubs opened up nearby Subang? =D
