ahahah...

KAP brands...not serious sure...but looking at your setup, it seriously a short ATA compound bow.

1. having a short ATA is never forgiving. It makes it hard for you to have all the issue of arrows "fishtailing" even before you can launch it.
I would get somewhere 34" , 36" or for real reason ...unless hunting purpose..which your carbon arrows tells me you don't.

2. 38#- 68", I don't know what this means...but, I assume it's your bow strength...and it should be kinda good for such range, yet again...having long poundage range isn't advisable. Usual range are 20# diff.

3. Shibuya sights...flimsy.
Good manufacturers of Recurves...never like them on compounds...no idea...

4. Cartel super arrow rest...no mechanism on this right?.. drop away?.

5. Easton Stabs....expensive stuff...ahahhaha....i hope the "sand" sound doesn't annoy you everytime you release.

6. Easton Redline...u took "600". Not sure your draw length...or was it 25"...
Redlines carbon arrows are good buys. for "600", I hope you know how much your arrows are going to allow you once you gain shooting poundage.
I know....you can't shoot it under 55# up...for sure...after that.....you'll hurt your arrow and your bow.

I started archery in 2002-2004/05.
I own a Merlin 2k, ATA=41", A-Rapid Cams.
draw length=28.5", with shoot through system.
Spigarelli Magnetico Arrow rest with drop away.
Arten Midas sight
Beiter -replica Stab (Cartel actually)
10 ACC 440 arrows...killed 2, all with spin wings vanes.
10 Beman 440 arrows., normal vanes.. really love them...same dimension and straights as Redlines...but no longer being sold.
and...a "Goose" release/trigger

AND....
a stupid expensive bow stand....

bought it from Lion Archery..and tuned by Mr.Ho...
My advise...bring along someone like me to help you bargain, if you seriously wish to start archery.
Mr.Ho and Philip would rip you off your poor savings...if you don't know what you REALLY need.

I have another person who I'm contact with. A retire Major who sells bow accessories as parts...I buy most of my arrows /stabs from him, coz...he is just plain doing it for his hobby and past time.

For bow setup...Lion Archery. Once you are a little knowledgable like me....
you can branch to more better equipments...and get them from the Major.

Price for good start on Recurve...$2.5k-2.8k....worth one time pain, rather than you regret later that you can't do much with al-cheapo stuff.

Compounds are much serious....$3.5k the least. I got mine at $4k, and it's still well balance til today.

Think about it...if you just want for fun..don't bother...just pay for funpark and shoot.
Archery is a discipline sports...I don't advocate it alot...but there is a lot of discipline involved...
and...back muscle exercise. Believe me..not even Malek Noor can pull a 60# bow...but you can...if you know how to use those back muscles. hihihhi.

btw...no license to keep a bow in Malaysia.

Lion Archery has an indoor shooting arena.
Just pay them for membership and you can shoot unlimited...but..you need to get yourself to Kepong all the time, and it's not opened on Sunday...that's another silly thing.
20m range.

else,...
Range shooting you can try in Sunway Piramid. They open everyday. 4th floor just next to bowling center. 6m distance only...WTH.
..

another..
"EXPERT ARCHERY ON 2ND FLOOR, NO 27B, JALAN BOLA JARING - SHOPLOTS IN FRONT OF STADIUM SHAH ALAM MAIN ENTRANCE - IT'S AT THE BACK ROW , FACING THE SCHOOL. LOOK UP FOR THE SIGN BOARD AS THE ROAD SIGN BOARD ARE MISSING."

Thanks. How much do they charge in shah alam. And the one at sunway, do they allow us to bring our own bow? Do they have special rates for that? I remember some years ago that they had a bigger range for people to bring their own bow to shoot.

Also do you know any outdoor ranges? Thanks

No idea...my guess is...if you bought your stuff there...they might waive this....The membership varies...if they open Sun...it's a good deal.

Most of the time, you need to pay for the targets, unless you want to bring a semi-cardboard and draw circles yourself.

For Sunway, I heard...they don't allow you to bring your equipments in.
6m...
I mean...no point shooting something above 20#....either you BREAK your arrows shooting such velocity or you don't get any thrill at all...

Those days... I do rent a place to shoot....but on a long run, you need to decide which is nearer for you....

Lion archery isn't quite as spacious as Expert's...and clean. Lotsa stock boxes everywhere.
Mr.Ho told me they are trying to open an indoor somewhere near Kepong mosque...no idea now.
To them..everything is money....i mean..someone needs to pay for the rental...

btw. Wear a sweating attire...or shorts.
There isn't going to be air con in any indoor.
I mean...that's the purpose of exercise right?...sweat. Enjoy.
Let me know if you plan to get into the serious stuff ..equipments...and etc.

I don't sell stuff or am I an agent....but, I know alot of people that started the sports...and then..later felt it was just too much for them.

Refer to finkl1 post try expery archery...

You can call Firecat 019 371 8264... he'll point you in the right direction and show you around the shop thumbup.gif

BTW if you're just starting out I'd suggest you go for coaching first rather than rush to buy a bow.

I'm planning to take some coaching lessons before buying my first bow nod.gif

For indoor you can try bigshoot archery at Maju Junction Mall, not been there for long time. Don't know it still there or not.

For outdoor you can go to Keramat near Texas Instrument.
