I think the sim card tray is negligible for the Air . Most of us are on ESim anyway.

I have always enjoyed the slim form factor of a phone. Anything below 7.5mm always pleases me. But looking at the feature of iphone air, its definitely not for me. Preordered the 17pm instead. Just hoping to see someday where technology can give us slimmer pro max iphones.

Fold is the way to go in future , look at the fold phone nowaday , so slim yet stil can fit 3 flagship camera. U can have a normal phone , ipad min size. Fit into your pocket.

Went to mum's house yesterday for a visit. Discussed and decided to wait until all models are physically displayed in stores (there's a Switch very near her house) so I can bring her to see/hold them in person. If she feels the base model 17 (size also increased to 6.3" this year) is big enough, then I can get that for her and save myself around RM2k.

Not for me. I tried a friend's Galaxy Fold and the difference between my iPad Mini is still quite big in terms if how websites render. Comfort isn't great either because the bezels are too slim and I have to do hold it in the the same pinky-finger-on-the-bottom style like a regular phone. Also, I still prefer separate devices with separate accounts - phone is classified "dirty" because of WhatsApp, Telegram, Grab and govt spyware apps that are all very hamsap to track me (this is why I prefer Android for phones because of access to proper firewall and split-tunneling apps via F-Droid/Github) and iPad is "clean" because I can carefully select just the apps I need.

Actually I just took out my iPhone X to use for awhile.

I wonder how the Air can sustain performance with Ti frame, and Pro chipset inside. What's the point of Pro chipset but cannot maximize usage of it. Eagerly waiting for the testing to see...

You are really paying for the form factor.. only 1 camera that's like abang 16e, then they throw in a Pro chipset to compensate the asking price.

TBH I think vanilla 17 is the winner again this generation.. a major leap. Cause most people don't use telephoto camera that much. Just 1x for normal photos, 0.5x to take in more or stretch the legs...

iphone 17 is having very high CP value indeed. However, it has the greatest flaws is that majority of ppl still prefer bigger display since iphone 6 plus era.

so many will still be forced to buy 17 pro max if they want bigger display if they are not happy with Air.
Obviously apple knows about this and they remove 17 plus this year. else if there was 17 Plus, it may be one of the hottest model ppl buy this year.

Yes, I agree. Regular 17 is the first non pro model in the last 4-5 years that isn’t insulting its buyers by not including any new front facing features. Imho, it should always have been like this. Give the pro line faster chips, more RAM and better cameras, but everything else should be the same tech.

All along since the inception of the Pro Max, this has been the best selling model for Apple. I think it would be because Iphone users either go for the highest model or dont bother buying an iphone at all.

If Apple keep the iPhone 17 plus this year, with all the new updates or hardware and same bigger display remaining, and same price for 128gb but get 256gb, I am sure it will attract a lot of new buyers becos CP value is high.

Obviously Apple is smart to remove the 17 plus so that it will not compromise the sale of iPhone 17 pro max.

so what colors are you all choosing for your iPhone 17? I had my eyes set on Sage but now suddenly I think I might go for White. Its been a very long time since I have a white iPhone lol. I dunno, I have to see them all IRL before I make a final decision. I have to say the pro line up colors are not too attractive for me. I dont like how it the colors are just too metallic and there is a two tone thing going on. Anyway this is about the 17 not Pro so ....

Sage colour looks special I would say while white is just a normal and safe choice though.
