For our readers, the iPhone 17 Air is more appealing than the Pro - 9to5Mac https://share.google/JeEZ2MXo2JHWaXqlx If we examine only the iPhone preferences expressed in the poll, we get the following results: iPhone 17 Pro Max: 38% iPhone 17 Air: 28% iPhone 17 Pro: 24% iPhone 17: 10% This post has been edited by jimcarrey: Aug 29 2025, 06:00 PM |

QUOTE(westlife @ Sep 11 2025, 12:24 PM) Why I did not buy iCloud+ is simple. You don't have to backup everything what. Can select what you want or do not want to backup. Media/video contents etc can opt to exclude. Or just back them up to your PC one time and then exclude them from the icloud backup thereafter.I have a 512gb iPhone so to backup it fully. 200 GB RM 11.90 2 TB RM 44.90 I need to go with 2TB plan which the cost is rm44.90 monthly. If assuming I change iPhone every 3 years the toto cost spent is rm44.90 x 36 =1,616.40 MYR which is may exceeded the extra rm1k I paid for the bigger storage. In fact in 22 months of time it will hit the rm1k cost for extra storage. |

Slight out of topic.
Since the Air is esim capable only, I may need to convert to it if I get the Air. Is it easy to switch between phones later on (via esim)? I have 2 phones (iPhone and Android ) and now I am switching between them as and when as I like. |

QUOTE(TOMEI-R @ Sep 13 2025, 09:21 AM) You have to request your telco to send u the esim everytime you switch phones. Some telcos charge everytime they send out a new esim. Aiyo. Any chance if you'll know the turnaround time from you request till the carrier send you the esim? Instantaneous or have to wait? And the charge might be a deal breaker in thw long run. I switch phone depends on the occasion. For work I use my Fold, if I go cycling/exercise/travel light I switch to my iPhone etc. |

I see. Thx for all the quick response.
Then Air might not be a viable option for me anymore as it is esim capable only. Imagine 10 bux gone just to change phone as and when I like. This post has been edited by jimcarrey: Sep 13 2025, 11:35 AM |

QUOTE(fruitie @ Sep 13 2025, 11:48 AM) For your case, it’s not feasible to use eSIM. However, I love eSIMs though been using it for my own personal Digi number and company number with physical SIM. Whenever I travel I just buy eSIMs. Ya lo. Damn, digi so good, free no charge for your esim. Too bad I'm stuck with Maxis. But yes, when I traveled also I just use those esim bought from Shopee. Hassle free. |

QUOTE(giggs_509 @ Sep 21 2025, 08:02 PM) For me eSIM is a deal breaker. Else I already owned one. 6.3 inch too small. 6.9 too big. 6.5 is just nice. Battery seems to be ok-ish now according to most reviews. And camera-wise, I hardly use the telephoto lens. |

Finally got my hands-on on the Iphone Air.
Not really having the 'wow' factor as I would imagine. It's thin yes but as I am already using the Fold 7, once unfolded, the Fold is thinner than the Air LOL. And size wise, it's just barely bigger than the regular base 17 model. Overall sacrificing the battery and the camera, no wonder the reception for this model is abit subpar. Just my opinion. To each their own. |

QUOTE(krishtiano86 @ Sep 29 2025, 01:03 PM) No one got real user feedback for the Air? Just wanna know about the battery life. 1 camera is enough for me. Lotsa video/youtube & user reviews from Reddits. Basically majority is saying it's totally fine for most general users. Can last whole day. Heavy users better go for the Pro. |

QUOTE(BoomerangCircles @ Sep 29 2025, 02:49 PM) Congrats. I think you are the first iphone Air owner in this very forum.Hey. Can I ask that if you can check for the Model Number (under Settings > General > About) for your phone if is it still shown as ZP/A set? Malaysia sets should show as such. I noticed in some online used marketplace, ppl are showing their sets as having different model ID eg (..L4X/A, N4X/A etc) but they claim it comes with receipt from Machines This post has been edited by jimcarrey: Sep 29 2025, 08:15 PM |

Finally bite the bullet. Man, it's really night and day coming from my 15PM. It's so light and so thin. My pinky will really thank me in the long run.

QUOTE(leechunghan @ Oct 1 2025, 02:34 PM) I bought the White Colour also😍 Nice. Another whitey! From iPong 16 Pro -> iPong Air So far already use 3days, Battery Life is same like iPong 16 Pro. Now using Ringke Matte Clear Casing. Everything is very good, just the Speaker if open volume more then 80% like got crackling sound for some song I will probably go with the ultra thin carbon fiber case like i always do for all my phones. I don't mind too much on the speaker, for FB/IG/YT videos, it is sufficient for me. Battery i think it's OK, plug it off at 7am and been using the phone like i would normally do (and also setting up user accounts etc), now still have >50% left. I am pretty sure with my usage, it's gonna be an all day battery phone. |

I'm absolutely loving this iPhone Air. Can't seems to put it down because it's like carrying nothing. It's by far the best (ergonomatically) iPhone I've use in a long time. As I've said in my earlier posts, the regular/Pro is a abit smallish by today's standard and the pro-maxes are just gigantic.
Sure it doesn't have the best (number of) cameras nor the best battery but for day-to-day use, it's just perfect. Having said that, battery for me is totally fine, it's just like my 16 pro, but the Air's screen is larger and overall lighter. I totally gets it that the mainstream people would like more bang for the buck so Air is will not be their first choice. > Expensive, < features. I would even go further to say that this is more for those with more than one devices. So if you go for a trip then you can use your other primary device for those 200MP/wide-angle/tele photo shots and what not. And battery that lasts all day. Any other day-to-day life, this Air is just perfect. My 2 cents. Likewise, to each their own. This post has been edited by jimcarrey: Oct 6 2025, 03:40 PM |
