Best to eat normally if you want it to be a lifestyle change, avoid breakfast, sweet drinks and all heavily process food.If you skip your childhood food like white rice etc, you will build more stress, and this stress is worst than carbs you eaten.
Also not all carbs are equally bad, so many other countries eat rice but have low obesity and diabetic.
