Since that was not really a smoke but steam byproduct from the water suppression system that was poured together directly into the hot "shock diamond" flame during the ignition start, just like the real thing.

SoulStayer: The effect was made with 3dsmax basic object & then exported to Zbrush for further refinement,& then would be imported back again into 3dsmax for noise modifier & meshsmooth. With this I was able to achieve random kind of 3d' smoke/steam effect by controlling the noise seed & parameter all around.

Hope that help! biggrin.gif

Today I started meddling around importing Minecraft into Blender.. I never really did anything in blender because I was horrible at modelling stuff.. Now all I have to do is export a part of minecraft as OBJ, import it into blender, set up the environment and it looks awesome biggrin.gif

After safe orbital parking range was achieved,it was time for the external tank that collected the oxygen during the earth flight,to be mix with the remaining propellant for engine restart. The process would make the power transfer to ignite the SPS(Service Propulsion System) engine, which is J2- engine(consuming refined kerosene, hydrogen & solid oxygen in order to combust)

Since power transfer would take around 6-8 hours minimum, the orbiter middle payload bay would be opened to allowed the orbiter to cool down,& EVA to be performed for one last check-in report,& inspection of orbiter heat shield before trans-lunar injection burn after SPS engine was fired.

user posted image

Close up of the "Liberty Bell 7" Orbiter Vehicle(OV-001 LibertyBell-7 ).Inside the payload bay is Robotic Arm Payload Assist(RAPA) which would assist the astronaut during EVA,& has manipulator arm that can be extended for manipulated boom, which can be suited for various payload assist mechanism such as astronaut Maneuvering unit,EVA clamp unit & heavy payload arm assembly.

user posted image

EVA performed by 2 astronauts. One of them using the extended manipulator boom unit to reach the rear end of the orbiter for close-up inspection of the engine noozle unit.

and i also found out there are something call rendering stuffs like V-Ray...can i know what does this rendering stuff do??

suggest you start with either 3D Studio Max or Blender (Freeware)
Daz Studio must import ready made objects

V-Ray renderer is a plugin for 3D Studio Max which create realistic renders such as what M1X posted above

So,since the aerospace project did took me so much devotion time for it,I think I would play with some old thing that I have been modeled before to get some "rest time" & inspiration for next project.

What kind of student and course are you taking? And what kind of 3d do you plan to build?
You can try 3ds max first... Once u are more familiar with the modeling technique and the basic then u can try the vray plug in to have a more realistic material and final rendering. Feel free to ask me if u need any guide smile.gif

A good start will be training program like Lynda.com they provide very good training and is really interesting to follow... I wish I have the time to follow more training on other software as well. But unfortunately I'm too tie up with my jobs already ....

Ic.. so you are not a design student so you wont be learning these software in university. Is ok anyone can learn, I have an IT friend now also bcoming a 3d visualiser already tongue.gif

if you not sure where to start.. maybe you can start from the easy one first. I highly recommend google sketchup..can download for free... and the first few tips they gave when u start the software is enough for u to play with a lot of things. It is the easiest software to learn.. (not necessary easy to master though)

but then im worry that if you try sketchup first, then only start to play with 3ds max you will find it very annoying because it is a lot more complicated.

Personally I start from 3ds max... then sketchup released and I tried,, WOW.. is quick and user friendly, easy to use! But because of the nature of my job... I still stick back to 3ds max.
