Mind asking what does the Solar Insurance cover?

I signed up 8kwh package at the Setia City CC Home Expo last month, 14 JA panels, Solargrow inverter, for 22.5k. Now awaiting SEDA approval. I don't think it comes with Solar Insurance.

Yes, wanted to buy too but just haven't survey enough which company is good. My friend's Deye hybrid inverter which cost almost 9k has been having issues for almost a month not settled yet. If he bought maybe no need to worry but don't know what's the period covered though. If anybody bought before please share your experience.

Thanks for sharing the link, will find out if similar insurance offered by my provider and would need to compare the scope of what constitutes "indemnifiable damages". Buying insurance always need to look out for key catch clauses and ask for the fine print.

Signed up at Expo three weeks ago. Then site visit two weeks ago to confirm if roof can fit 14 panels. Submission thereafter. Was told SEDA will take 4-6 weeks, is that the norm?

Not yet move in, still renovating. I estimate based on my current consumption, then add in incremental number of airconds, storage boilers and other electrical kitchen appliances, would come to RM550-650 thereabout.

Shorter waiting time for SEDA approval would be good for me, as re-wiring work will start after CNY, i can ask Solar guy to come do up the concealed solar wiring one shot.

Since your house is only single phase, max solar system you can get is about 5kw system...
So assuming your usage is about 1300kwh per month equivalent to roungly rm655++ bill.
The average a 5kw solar system will generate about 5kw x 3 sun hour x 30days = 450kw.
So the saving you are looking at is about 450kw x 0.571 = RM256

My recommendation as you are using so much power, consider to get 3 phase power.

By the way, how if your roof orientation, what type of roof you have?

If ur bill is always 600++, consider upgrade 3 phase.

Hi Brothers , i am comparing the vendors for my solar panels , as i have the option to build solar as roof by Epsilon . ( Others not so willing to do so ), it slightly different to compare with other typical solar system vendors. Install on awning and roof

They quoted below:

RM : 36,460 - Total
RM : 7200 - Awning part
RM : 29,260 - Solar System part

MONOFACIAL DUAL GLASS MONOCRYSTALLINE MODULE 24 Unit 660.00
- Brand : Trina Solar Vertex S+ (N Type)
- Model :NEG9R.28_EN_2024_500W
- Nominal Maximum Power (Pmax) : 500W
- Optimum Operating Voltage (Vmp) : 42V
- Optimum Operating Current (Imp) : 10.36Amp
- PV Array : 24 x 500W = 12KWP
RM 15,840.00

2 Inverter 15KW Three Phase 1 Unit
- Brand : Think Power
- Rated Power : 15KW AC
- Maximum PV Array Open Circuit Voltage : 850VDC
- MPPT Range @ Operating Voltage : 250 - 800VDC
- Number of MPP Trackers : 2 x 2 String
RM 4,000.00 RM4,000.00

Any review on Epsilon ? and it is a string system instead .
So far this is the cheapest solution if i just care about the kw and all in the awning inclusive price.
