What will happen to those solar system providers after NEM Rakyat quota depleted?
Wait for government to announce NEM4.0 or extended quota?
I assume some reputable vendors can still get businesses from NOVA whereby smaller player will count on luck…

Can apply under Selco & run the Solar with limiter but this round rather complicated because of Solaris. If later convert to NEM & if Solaris is extended you might not get it!

The question was on the pool of solar system vendors.
Probably they have enough backlogs now to survive till government announces new NEM plan or extended quota.
SELCO volume is definitely insufficient to feed the current vendors pool.
Hopefully, those companies are still around as long as the solar system warranty.

In between 28th Nov 2023 when quota depleted until 1st April 2024 when NEM 3 extra quota with Solaris announced, they still managed to survive

Thanks for sharing. I didn't know that they increased the quota. I always thought they started a new NEM phase when quota runs out.

I just recently apply for solar.

when i look at other country, some country also offer NEM at longer period but it is no 1 to 1 offset... in US they doing 4 to 1 offset, meaning 4kwh to grid only allow you to enjoy 1kwh free from grid.

base on the gomen target, i guess they will continue to push more NEM project so encourage more adoption.

i apply now rather waiting in view of T15 coming up and expecting more people will rush in to apply for this

Soon when more and more people change to solar , on grid nem will be different but that for us will be another 10year which is our nem contract finish

US NEM is at state level. Many states offer like 20% to 40% rebates on solar installation. So even if off-set is less, it makes sense.

Different country different approach, onky tvis few years started from nem 2.0 u see many solar company coming out and more housing opt for solar , at the end our tariff still lower compare to US , plus still many old even new house owner bypass meter so for them it not worth to go solar

yeah, US started long long time ago (25-30yrs), they had discounts, tax rebates and various flavors, especially southern states. But then their electricity supply is privatize, hence there are many company's a consumer can choose from unlike ours is monopolized with a fix pricing. In general electricity was more affordable there, without currency conversion la.

If I were to suggest, gomen should just put a policy any new housing comes with a build-in solar or an option to add-on atleast

I prefer not have a new house come with built in solar. Knowing developer, they will sometimes choose the cheapest things with unknown quality. I much prefer for the new house instead come with ready for solar tag. Pre built piping, wiring path, db space, inverter space, easily accessible roof for maintenance etc.
