No benefits atm, so far it's looking like a con since they'll start charging the RM8 annual fee for debit card holders soon 🤣

This is FD in disguise, but without the early withdrawal interest-forfeiture penalty that comes with most FD in conventional banks.

200 mil is a huge number, they must have realized that their promos are not attractive and they clearly need to burn more cash to attract depositors

If you do round up trick, assuming jar closes on 31st Jan 2026, from today till 31 Jan 2026 (150 days), with one cent interest daily, on the last day the effective interest rate is:

0.01*365/(55.31+1.5) = 6.42 % p.a.

So basically a 5-month FD with 6.42% p.a. with maximum principal of 55.31 MYR. For larger principals, many other alternatives exist outside there.

Yup, did the math this morning when i received the notification about the jar. The clause really killed it for me. Might be "attractive" for small sums but for 100k? It's a joke.

By rough calculations, it technically is a profit of 6.6% with 55.31 but i'm not going risk it.

Might just throw 55.31 in there and forget about it till end of Jan next year. The only danger is if i accidentally move money out when doing other transactions laugh.gif

TL;DR:
This "Hello 2026" jar is a shit, but I think still okay to put more rather than just RM55.31. Here is my point:

1. This is better than Al Rajhi (aka Rize), Al Rajhi only credit interest monthly, and their system is not stable now. If you are a Al Rajhi user, you should deposit your money to Hello 2026.

2. If you needed money, just withdraw and let Boost Bank to close this jar.
Doesnt matter. You can easily deposit to any digital bank such as RYT bank and they should have more promotion after 30 Nov.

3. If you still dont know where to park your money after Hello 2026 closed, you still can go to TNG Go+ which is offering 3.2+%

4. For me, I will park my money until I needed it, but I definitely will not park for 5 months.

This jar is just a shit but not a monster, dont worry too much.
