Yes as some places still do 🤦‍♀️ particularly in small towns and Asian shops

You still need a debit card because you can do cash out from retailers and used to be quite high at AUD500 but now major retailers are restricting it at AUD200 because of high current cash rate

i mean banks still issue cards but most users will save them under Apple/Google pay. one phone to rule them all.

Why they don't use 2 series (2221-2720)

those series are reserved, usually 5xxx (Mastercard), 6xxx (Unionpay/ Discover) and 4xxx (Visa)

Because the backend need to be integrated again as the currently existing only accept 51 to 55 series

Don’t forget some loyalty merchant backend need to be recoded again 🤦‍♀️
