Actually I wonder why u wann to do this when there is nem.  How much does it cost u so far? Are the battery stable?
*
No NEM contractor in Sarawak except 1 company in Kuching which not interested in providing service.
Cause I already purchased all the certified solar panels + inverters + breakers + rails + wires etc, all contractor need to do is install it and certify it.
Takde untung banyak, mereka tak nak. dry.gif They actually want to sell me their expensive package.

Problematic Sinopoly cells, had to replace 2 cells before getting all 16 cells stable.

Cost? Wasted RM3000 for grid-tie-inverter Growatt 4200TL-X which in storage room now. ohmy.gif

I don't even want to bother with SEDA and my local SESCO anymore.
Straight opt for self-consumption with battery.

Previously, I secured all the necessary materials for the NEM, but unable to find NEM qualified installer/contractor to get NEM application done.
Thus zero-export grid tie.
[attachmentid=11494206]

-.- Since nobody at home from morning to evening*, the saving is really minimal in zero export mode.....

K then, time for battery storage :

[attachmentid=11494207]

[attachmentid=11494208]

The only problem is my battery capacity is too small for my solar panel capacity of 4200watts.
51.2V 200Ah.

Currently securing purchase of 16 cells of EVE LF280K and 16 cells of Batterotech BT280......
Gonna parallel all 3 packs for total storage of 38kWh.

Did you need to get any approval from TNB / authorities for your solar + battery setup?

woah. sounds like nightmare. maybe can chronicle from start to finish. You do self installation?
*
Roof = hired electrician contractor to install panels, they farked up my roof so hard that I had to take off the roof zinc metal sheet and railing.
At the end, I had to buy new zinc roof and perform the solar panel installation at my rooftop on my own and the result is WAY BETTER than so called qualified electrical contractor workers.

The electrical contractor simply sent 2 workers to install the panel at my rooftop.

I can confirm 100% these workers didn't have the knowledge on how to install the panel or even having electrical knowledge, don't get me started with how they left the wires exposed and hanging.
They don't even have the proper tool to tighten the bolt/nuts. Ever heard of torque wrench? They simply use normal spannar to torque down the bolt until the solar panel metal got bend. Farker.
They connected the MC4 connectors to the solar panels in broad daylight and left the "LIVE" wire hanging down, luckily there was no short circuit happening. The panel voltage is more than 200v in series.

End up terminating contract with this certified electrical contractor. They didn't ask money from me after I show off the damage to my panel and how the live wire was left hanging.

Only approval from local authority on the rooftop installation part. Had to find another electrical contractor to sign it off which I got.

It is off-grid-inverter, no need for SESCO permission. Plus https://www.sarawakenergy.com/electricity-a...enewable-energy

QUOTE
To promote solar power, the amendment raises the installation threshold requiring a licence from 5 kW to 50kW. This adjustment makes 50kW solar systems easily installable on typical rooftops for domestic, small commercial, and industrial premises, enabling self-consumption or participation in the Net Energy Metering (NEM) scheme, with the Single Buyer procuring excess electricity.

Remember, the official response is, "Tak ada benda ini".
Funny considering their website has NEM with full details just fine. I got scammed by SESCO, that all.

Hi sifus. Read all 40 pages of the thread and now considering to install solar at my place. Appreciate if any sifus can PM me on where to start? Engaged some company already and awaiting their reply. My tnb bills average 500-600+ every month. Also I’m not sure my house is using 1 phase or 3 phase system. Thank you in advance.

Look at your MCB, if got 3 is 3 phase! Where is your location? You can also search SEDA website for RPVSP near you to get some obligation free quotes for a start!
Search RPVSP
