Thx for input. Highly appreciate those who installed to share their feedback. I will start compiling them on first post.

I realised many here in /k dont know anything yet talk alot about "maintenance cost". Banyak tin kosong here.

Just stumbled upon this thread. Thanks for sharing the detailed information and data. Am very impressed by your projected 5 to 6 year payback. Do you have an EV car? If there's room to install more panels, then its probably an easy decision to go electric.

I have a tesla.

Previously I pay around 400 a month for petrol and 150 a month to TNB

I have installed a 7kw system for 23k with EPP of 4 years in last December and monthly installment is 480, still cheaper than my previous TNB bill and petrol combined

My TNB bill last month is RM3.

Will be free power after 4 years

Hugely impressive. Without financing, payback would have been less than 5 years. Taking financing was the smart thing to do if the financing cost was cheap.

I don't even want to bother with SEDA and my local SESCO anymore.
Straight opt for self-consumption with battery.

Previously, I secured all the necessary materials for the NEM, but unable to find NEM qualified installer/contractor to get NEM application done.
Thus zero-export grid tie.

-.- Since nobody at home from morning to evening*, the saving is really minimal in zero export mode.....

K then, time for battery storage :

The only problem is my battery capacity is too small for my solar panel capacity of 4200watts.
51.2V 200Ah.

Currently securing purchase of 16 cells of EVE LF280K and 16 cells of Batterotech BT280......
Gonna parallel all 3 packs for total storage of 38kWh.

Did you need to get any approval from TNB / authorities for your solar + battery setup?
