Hmm ive never tried touching the ceiling during the day. Will try later see how. But eventually will still need solar as we phase out all the ice car at home for an EV in the coming future

Either the room/hall ceiling too high until AC need to work extra2 harder to replace the hot air inside or another is to many gap & holes for the kampung design style like my wife kampung. Ask individuals who doing repairs at kampung to put close all holes (kinda old design for house in kampung) then change the AC to inverter, its also drop the bill of the house.

Guys, advice please..
My electricity bill around 80 but I just got an ev so expect to reach 230-250..
1. 15 yr old Double storey terrace house in Melaka East West orientation with 3 phase
2. Saw an advert for 3.92kWp for less than 13k with 60 months instalment... Is this suitable for me or can recommend anything else..
3. Need to wait for how many months bill before can apply? Last month bill 200
Not looking at ROI.. The way I look at it, if 15k over 60 months is 250 per month which is almost what I have to pay to tnb... No more guilty about switching on aircon in daytime..
Thanks

Although number 1, 2 and 3, but seems like you only ask 1 question at 3. No need to wait. You can just ask solar installer to quote you based on how much you want to offset. Try to ask several quotes to compare price.

No need wait for increased tnb bill, just write a cover letter would do. Sometimes no need letter also will be approved brows.gif

My suggestion is to give ur ev sometime and get an average of your usage.

Anything less than 300 totally not worth installing a solar system.

I don't know about ur Financials but having a loan for solar system after an EV loan is kinda too much

Hmm... like buying any expensive furniture or appliances or car, just compare price lo.
You can ask for quotation from GSparx (TNB subsidiary) and then some other you search on facebook or google (Verdant, SOLS, Salarvest)
They will then explain details to you and will conduct a free visit.

Then only you choose based on their strong points or price lo.

As long your bill can hit above RM200, then worth to install, small size package, can try check with ERS for free quotation. Their smallest package for 5kwp think only cost 14k, due to government now give RM4k subsidy. U can use public bank credit card, the charges is only 2% if you convert to 60 mths repayment. Better than 3.92kwp which is too small

hi guys... thinking of small 1kwp (500-600w panelx2) diy for ev charging... which one you prefer?

1. panels --> charge controller --> inverter --> charger/car
2. panels --> hybrid inverter --> charger/car
3. panels --> micro inverter --> charger/car
4. panels --> power station --> charger/car

will 1 and 2 work without battery? otherwise may need a small battery to trick the system... sorry for noob question, got no solar experience

estimated cost 2.5-3k... roi 1.5-2 yrs

car sits at home in the day, plenty of daylight hours...
*
Avangelice... saw your old question in other tered about ev charging but didn't see any satisfying reply... tot i'd share my views here...

option 2 will be most flexible as a dedicated system... you connect power source (panels/tnb/or battery) to the inverter, and charge your ev through the inverter... you then configure supply priority, solar 1st then either tnb or battery for 2nd and 3rd priority... this way if solar power is not enough, it will supplement from tnb/battery... also when you can charge (day/night) is crucial

the remaining question is then balancing/optimizing the capacity/cost... if big might as well just go full nem... if too small then roi no good...
