Previously bill 500 to 600. Now average 250. Would have been better if I can use more panels but due to roof shape cannot.
ROI is 7 to 8 years unfortunately. Warranty 10 years. Not much savings but yes doing something for the environment. |

QUOTE(pandah @ May 25 2024, 07:39 AM) Someone from kuching shared his experience that the handful of solar installers here in kuching have no business in doing residential solar project. Don't even know which inverter to buy.Wait it out until west malaysia companies come to us. Fuck sarawak style and their slow ass adoption |

As per whatsapp from the solar company engineering team, my roof structure cannot support the weight of the solar panels "Kayu ni boleh pecah kalau kita drill, bila da masuk L + railing + panel , possibility utk kayu tu mengepak dan pecah tinggi tu". This means im stuck with a rm700+ tnb bill every month from now on That kind of roof means your house is heating up rapidly due to that kind of roof. Suggestion Look for quotes for roof renovation. |

QUOTE(ayamxxx @ May 25 2024, 06:38 AM) Rm700 monthly bill, whats the main contribution? If it AC, suggest changing all to 5 stars inverter first. It drop my monthly bill massively cz previously use old AC which are not efficient All the 3 AC's are already inverter but they are running night and day , not 24 hours but during the hotter time of the day. Ive looked into the daily stats, on days that there's no one at home, idle consumption is 6kWh daily, normal day usage is 35kWh, and on days when I charge the EV (once every 4 days), daily consumption is 70kWhQUOTE(Avangelice @ May 25 2024, 08:52 AM) 700 bill. Any aluminum heat reflector underneath?Probably need to look into it already. But don't know where to start and who to look for. Later need to do more research Also that metal roof sucks. Get tiles or if u can install a fan on ur roof. If u also can, collect rain water in a huge drum and during hot weather use it to spray on top of ur roof to cool it |

QUOTE(dwRK @ May 25 2024, 12:09 AM) the granny brick is rated 2.3kw... usually i think it charges lower around 1.8kw (my main wallbox is 7kw but i set it up for 5kw to reduce cable loss) That's why I asked you your about your original charger details. Your 1kW off grid cannot power it unless you mod it which is a big qustion mark! originally i was thinking a 1kwp grid tie or off grid for a 1hp aircon for day use... then i was thinking maybe i can use it to slow charge the ev... the ev can limit charging power but i can't remember how low it can go... I'll have to do some more testing to finalize kwp... grid tie will be easiest to supplement ac power... my usual tnb bill is 250...ev adds 150... so a small system for the ev that i can diy i think will be more cost effective than going 5-7kwp nem for the whole house... anyways... thank you for taking an interest... |

QUOTE(WH4CockcooBird @ May 24 2024, 08:03 PM) I got two friends living at close vicinity with solar panels installed. Too low, mine is 11.7kw but generate much higher kwh. I think yours is net after daily consumption.11.5kw and 6.4kw. Both string inverter April TNB bill shows 890kwh and 396kwh respectively And this figure appear to be peak of what their system is producing. Is this considered ok? ![]() This post has been edited by etan26: May 25 2024, 11:04 AM |

But I plan to have EV soon. So may I know your 150 extra per month for EV is for how many kilometers of travel? What EV you use btw? Dont know why, they just said it wont work.. Looking at the conditions of your roof truss/zinc sheet I think they don't want to take the risk. If you DIY can always used those frameless type solar panels with a cheap hybrid inverter+48v100Ah battery & used it off grid.QUOTE(grimjow @ May 25 2024, 10:55 AM) Please share more details so we can see how they managed to give you a 2.7 years ROI.This post has been edited by adamw: May 25 2024, 11:32 AM |
