I cant speak for hd2600xt but i can say the HD3850 is quite impressive for what you pay for...Granted i still play at very low resolution but i play Crysis at a customised mix of high and very high settings....

amd planning to cut price so dont worry

I would like to inquire about it's AA performance ..

As most know by now that AA on 2900XT are craps.

Whenever applied, white edges would appears.

So has this problem happened again on 3870 ??

Im using the 3870 for almost a week now..compare it to 2900xt 1gb DDR4 that I have previously, still have the same issue...quite dissappointed. even with the 7.11 driver still same issue.

eh.. i dont have the problem of the white edges...

only prob i have which is similar with the hd2900xt is when u start switching monitors

so better use 2 monitors on the 2nd card which doent seem to be affected

So far the white edges only appear when i play nfs prostreet and turning on the AA. other games isnt noticeableso far. have u tried with nfsps?

yeah, the 2900xt is the one u sold to me...later gonna be someone else..hehehe..

I had the AA problem with NFS: Pro Street, Company of Heroes and Command & Conquer 3 ... other game I had not even want to try to activate the AA a all .. sien ...

there were two more game that had problem with: Tomb Raider Legend and TR Anniversary

I hope the issue is really solved with this new card but seems like it isn't ...

Anyone else that have tried 3870 with AA enable ??

Need more input to decide to grab this babe or not ..

I have a HD3850...what is this AA issue you guys are talking about...I have WiC(AA 2X) and Total War Kingdoms(AA 4X) with AA on with no such artefacts..

I think he meant the massive drop in frame rates like those on the HD2900XT.

As far as I tried sometime ago, Wic have no white edges issues when using the 2900XT, even wif the AA on. For the time being only in nfsps. Even crysis is fine (only the frame drop when AA on). Will try other older games and see how.

if u keep messing around with ure dual monitor display
sooner or later
for some reason

the primary card monitor will only show black and white
to solve it
u need to uninstall ati drivers and reinstall it back

but AA is issue is well known for 2900XT series in forum ...

I just want to know is it the same with 3870 ....
