Last Friday placed order for RWD, this Tuesday submitted LOU to Tesla and DA replied me to patiently waiting for VIN number assignment. Anyone has any idea roughly how long it'll take to get VIN number assigned?

And in the meantime, should I proceed to sign loan agreement without VIN number (or are we able to at all)? About the insurance, just gotten quotation, when is the good time for me to make payment for the insurance? Sorry if question is noob, first timer need some advices.

Let me help you out, it will take roughly 1 to 2 months before the VIN is assigned to you. (Note that it is an estimated timeline ya, means can be early or can be delayed). You don't have to sign the LOU now yet as there is no benefit of doing so. Just tell your banker to hold on and wait for your reply on the VIN. Best to do now is wait or settle your registration first (bid a number or interchange).

Thanks for your prompt reply. Wow, that's quite a long wait. I am aiming for the 0% and quite worried that unable to get car delivery by 30 Sept. I have already purchased number plate through MySIKAP and submitted the receipt to Tesla, I suppose this is done and settled?

The reason I'm thinking to sign those documents earlier is to avoid any possible delays from my end, so to move things as fast as possible once the car is ready (still, aiming for the 30 Sept delivery deadline).

0% interest give you around 15K discount, the model 3 RWD price is actually now at 166,000.

if you plan to buy with cash, you can even save more by placing extra cash into US foreign fixed deposit.
*
You get savings on loan interests not the car price… your calculation is incorrect. The car price is the same, starts from RM181,000, with or without 0%. With 0% promo, the total amount you paid (DP + Loan Amount) is exactly the car price. Without 0% promo the total amount would be more than the car price (DP + Loan Amount + Interests).

Decided to change my order to the inventory Quicksilver + white interior unit. Prepared to fork out extra RM11k but then surprisingly, the revised VSO still stated RM7,500 for the Quicksilver paint. Got the VIN number now biggrin.gif

Hi all, the 0% interest applies to how many years loan period? Can take 9 year loan with 10% downpayment for RWD M3?
*
0% for Model 3 RWD only.
Min 20% downpayment required and max loan tenure 5 years.

Wahhh.  My DA told me Quicksilver was still Rm7.5k the other day when I spoke with him even after the price increase. I noticed yesterday quicksilver taken before looking at this thread.
I changed mine to Blue. Maybe we might see each other on delivery day smile.gif
*
My DA didn't told me about the price. So I was kind of surprised and delighted that I am still paying the previous price when I am already mentally prepared for new price haha.

I've done all documents and now left with final insurance cover note. Not sure when is my delivery day yet.

Quicksilver is very nice color for Model 3  nod.gif this is the one color I don't mind adding RM11k for  drool.gif

I actually not so sure how it look in real life. Has not really even seen 1 on the road so far.
The rest of the colors all seen before, of course white being the most common one... (but I think it's really nice looking)

Congrats ! But why cant collect the car earlier since everything is ready?
*
No idea. I asked for collection tomorrow but the DA said tomorrow is too rush, they need some time to do cleaning and whatever to make sure the car is ready blah blah blah..
Then Saturday Public Holiday so unable to collect...
Next available slot is Tuesday according to her.

Congrats bro! If I were you, and if you are allowed to do pre-inspection of the car before the actual collection day, just go there first. It could save some time for you and they can do the rectification (if any).

Btw, when did you order your car? Is it within the 8 weeks period since you place your order?
*
Ordered 2 August for white + white, heard of the long backlog of this combination which could potentially be dragged till October so changed my order to inventory unit. That explains the earlier delivery for my case.

Picked up my Model 3 RWD Quicksilver yesterday rclxms.gif

The color isn't as what I expected. I expect it would be much more shiny but it actually kind of gives a little bit of matte feeling. The range also far below what's advertised - website says WLTP 519KM but the car estimated 400km++ only for 97% battery. Although I have expected this, I just thought it would be slightly higher as mine is 18" wheel, not the 19", should have better range.

Still getting used to the 1-pedal driving now, I find it dangerous at times as my foot get used to put on the drive pedal all the time but when I needed brake, I would accidentally hit on the drive pedal instead. Especially at parking boom gate, down slopes, etc. Also the regen braking feels kinda weird and a bit dizzy at first, I guess need a bit time for myself to "break-in".

All in all, nice car, nice ride and great audio. Beginning of my EV lifestyle, hope I won't get too much of the range anxiety biggrin.gif

Car displays EPA, while the advertised is WLTP. Different standards.

Side note, have you driven manual car?  laugh.gif the one pedal drive feels a lot like manual car doing engine braking.
*
Yea, it feels like engine braking (automatic transmission car has it too).

The "pulling" force is causing the dizziness. Hearsay the rear passenger comfort level is not gonna be too good on the new Model 3 due to this strong regen braking.

I would say Tesla's delivery definitely not the best, especially compared to traditional car manufacturers' dealership experience. I was 20 minutes earlier and they also allowed me to register earlier, however, the briefing session was full right before me, hence I have to wait at the waiting area for roughly 25-30 minutes before gets called into the next briefing session (P/S the coffee machine isn't even working!). The briefing is kind of extra for my case as I'm already quite 'familiar' with all the features and functions of the car before I even ordered the car (I believe most of us here are). After the video briefing, then we were brought to the delivery car park and the staff just asked us go and locate our own car dry.gif

As my car is the furthest away from the building entrance, I was the last one to be entertained by the staff. Before that, I just go through the car inspections, feature testing, photo taking, even have to grab the big red ribbon ourselves for photo sessions. After about 20 minutes of inspection, walk around and testing, finally the staff approached and only guided me to confirm the car VIN number, then helped me to setup the phone key, then requested me to sign off the delivery then that's it. Told me I can just drove off.

Same with everyone here, luckily I'm already pretty familiar with the car, so I indeed not needing too much assistance from the staff. But there is almost little to none of the "welcomed" or "prestiged" feeling for the whole Tesla delivery process. You're just like a student go to attend a class, then given few instructions then that's it. Car is flawless tho, as per heard online, Shanghai Gigafactory's build quality is indeed above par.

I have 2 questions on the Tesla App

1. Why I'm not seeing the upgrade option for EAP / FSD in the Tesla app? I'm only seeing the premium connectivity subscription option, but not seeing EAP / FSD at all.

2. Why am I not able to use the Trip Planner for navigation in the app's "Location"? Once I clicked on destination, it shows error "This feature is not available in this region."

Any sifus has any ideas on the above?

I believe malaysia government does not approve any L3 or above autopilot such as EAP and FSD.
*
Tesla's FSD is still classified as L2...
I understand FSD is not yet legal here. I believe EAP is legal to use however.

Just wondering why isn't the subscription options available in the app, but you can actually purchase them during initial car ordering at the website.
Guess we have to wait until the day they release it as an subscription option in M'sia.

Don’t confuse FSD with autopilot, Tesla Full Self Driving is at least L4 with latest version, and they are heading to L5 with Robotaxi.
*
Not confused. FSD has never reach L3, although it works like L3/4 with the current version but it’s not yet. Do a simple google search.

if you have seen latest FSD 12.5.3 version released last month, you wouldn't say it is level 2. it is at least level 3 and probably level 4 already, many testers already using it from one place to another place without actual driving it.

Tesla end to end vision only FSD is rapidly evolving after their massive AI data center is in production. your cited info is outdated.
*
lol, of course I know latest FSD is good. But autonomous level is not determined by me you or any YouTubers, it’s determined and classified by SEA and I’m stating fact. Even Tesla themselves never promote their FSD has reached anything past L2. What we feel and see is irrelevant.
