If they think it's the high end model of a low end notebook... so be it.
Just like Nvidia have the right (much to my wallet's dismay) to charge 40% margins on high end vga's, Intel's 28% margins... blah blah....
~65% of the Eee's bom cost are "market pricing" stuffs which Asus have minimal say.
Can always vote with the wallet.
BTW, Diamondville is a relatively recent thing... knee jerk reaction from Intel after the Eee/classmate/OLPC.
