emm,how low is extremely low?

i install normal XP and take less then 1 G after the "tweak",free space 2.7G if not mistaken,but that was b4 installing other applications.

it could be due to the page file, last time i also face the same problem, only after a while only realise the page file took 2gb of space..

you have upgraded the ram also?

then cost effective they should be. it's a low cost laptop to begin with, and you still reason why the big $100 price jump from 4g to 8g which should have been lower

in anycase, they should be using atom instead of celeron. i wonder if the 9 inch will be using atom?

If they think it's the high end model of a low end notebook... so be it.

Just like Nvidia have the right (much to my wallet's dismay) to charge 40% margins on high end vga's, Intel's 28% margins... blah blah....

~65% of the Eee's bom cost are "market pricing" stuffs which Asus have minimal say.

BTW, Diamondville is a relatively recent thing... knee jerk reaction from Intel after the Eee/classmate/OLPC.

I wanna ask one question since the shop assistant even donno a thing... just the basics...

Ok, i touched the EEE and it was damn hot at the base. How fast does that thing heats up? and does anyone on the EEE for 24 hrs?

And when the EEE is opened, why is there an empty gap there? Is it a space for the battery? Or it was just like that? Hope that you guys can help me answer these! Thanks.
