Then it's better to stay with Linux rather than changing it to XP.
I heard XP itself is 3GB and + Office would left with XXXMB.

The 2GB would be enough for me to store all my documents and assignments.
Songs and the rest could be stored in my external HDD or SD.

but now thinking to change to xp due to have a compatible hsdpa usb modem
maybe will left xxxmb??wts?(not sell)

From what I heard xp occupy more or less around 3GB,so left with 1GB and plus office it would left with a few hundred MB only.

I think after a while they might come out with a driver to make HSDPA to be compatible with Linux.
Guess it's good with just Linux instead of XP unless you take the 8GB model.

Think of the weight man..
I've been travelling with my laptop in a sling bag that came with it,carrying it around the airport itself is a pain in the ass, hurts my shoulder a lot.
That's why i'm eyeing at this.

Hi shirohamada,

as I mentioned b4, this would be perfect for people who wanna do documentation and internet surfing only. For many of us who like to mess ard with our PC's, I don't think it's suitable. But I may get 1 just for work.

oh? an Eee thread? wonderful!

Kerazul: this is the stuff that i mentioned to you previously. Good eh?

btw, this would be nice for classroom setting as its not HUEG or HEAVY or something to that sense, and its about the same price as people would pay for a handphone these days. seeing this has about 3.5 hours of battery WITH wifi on, i can say you can add about 1 hour or so with the wifi turned off?

and also, as someone previously said, SHDC 8GB + this = a better thing to have than a PDA. Even with XP on it, you can save some space by installing OpenOffice seeing its smaller. Besides, you can always nLite your XP installation.

http://www.notebookreview.com/default.asp?newsID=4062 <== some tweaks people have done for the Eee, which includes XP installation.

BTW, there is another model of the Eee announced last year - 8GB version. it WILL be more expensive, but would be more better for installing XP WITH extra space.

but for basic document workings? i think the 4GB is decent enough.

If one decides to remain Linux then the 4GB one would be sufficient.
But if one decides to have XP + Office + some other programs, then the 8GB would be nice.
