QUOTE(kerazul @ Nov 4 2007, 04:02 AM) Somebody mentioned my name? I do think it's worth it for those who are looking for an ultra-portable but could not afford one as those like sony, fujitsu cost ard RM4k-6k or so.Yeah, really bz lately. INSANELY BZ! I think the Eee PC is good for those whose requirements are very specific and are not adventurous with their PC. Take for instance those who buy PPC phone n the reason given is that they can "Go to starbucks and enjoy free internet". Honestly speaking, surfing the net with my 3.5" - 4" VGA res screen is JUST NICE only. Those with 2.7 - 2.8" QVGA screens wan... heh... goodluck lorr... If ur purpose is to "Go starbucks and enjoy free internet" which is not exactly free anyway coz ur expected to purchase a beverage or food, I feel that the Eee PC is a better way about it. Therefore, if ur uses r strictly documentation and internet, it's a good device. Anything else, u'll end up as Sniper On The Roof said; in the pay-peanut-get-rubbish-but-complain-QC-no-good class. It's nice to lug around when u go college, starbucks or to the libraby.. But i still think the 4GB and 8GB is still too little but overall worth the price of RM1500 I would say. |

Owh..Too bad then..
Can't wait for it to be officially release. How much space left if u were to keep it as original which means with Linux? I heard with XP,left 1GB. This post has been edited by Tainted: Nov 5 2007, 11:05 AM |

Then it's better to stay with Linux rather than changing it to XP.
I heard XP itself is 3GB and + Office would left with XXXMB. The 2GB would be enough for me to store all my documents and assignments. Songs and the rest could be stored in my external HDD or SD. |

QUOTE(kazasho @ Nov 5 2007, 07:32 PM) but now thinking to change to xp due to have a compatible hsdpa usb modem From what I heard xp occupy more or less around 3GB,so left with 1GB and plus office it would left with a few hundred MB only.maybe will left xxxmb??wts?(not sell) I think after a while they might come out with a driver to make HSDPA to be compatible with Linux. Guess it's good with just Linux instead of XP unless you take the 8GB model. |

Think of the weight man..
I've been travelling with my laptop in a sling bag that came with it,carrying it around the airport itself is a pain in the ass, hurts my shoulder a lot. That's why i'm eyeing at this. |

QUOTE(kerazul @ Nov 6 2007, 07:23 PM) Hi shirohamada, Yeap.. I too would wanna get one for to bring to college and starbucks or any wifi hotspot cafes.as I mentioned b4, this would be perfect for people who wanna do documentation and internet surfing only. For many of us who like to mess ard with our PC's, I don't think it's suitable. But I may get 1 just for work. |

If one decides to remain Linux then the 4GB one would be sufficient.
But if one decides to have XP + Office + some other programs, then the 8GB would be nice. |

Left 1GB?? LOL
XP hog a lot of space.. Guess the 4GB is nice if it remains as Linux as the Linux is specially built for Eee. |
