Ya, I notice I share hotspot + 5G connection drain a lot than usual on Wi-Fi Connection.
Need to charge at twice per day instead of one per day.
You can click his shop to see other 5G routers/modem that is also selling.
You can check tiktok channel here
Seen few times on other tiktokers about this router is portable and good.

every video seem to only show how portable and the speed it can get
nobody dare to show how long the battery can last laugh.gif

even the ZTE umobile gave, it does get warm...so can't imagine the portable version and it's battery life

Put a fan below 😂
If using phone as tethering then will be hot as fire.
Battery life? If rarely go out no problem.
Unlike traveling highway more often.
Most 5G routers will get hot. I think la.

But I not aiming for battery one, just want use at home.
I was thinking about 5018 and aw1000 but end up ordering aw1000 because 1. It’s cheaper and 2. It’s open wrt I can make a lot of changes since it’s Linux

got it yesterday from Berjaya Times Square - existing U5G Home subscribers just sign 2 years and take the ZTE Modem.

trying now - what they say is true, this router kuat tarik signal, my office usually very low 5G 1/2 bar and switch to 4G.

this ZTE modem can tarik 5G constant at 2/3 bar so far .... band can be locked - but SIM only for U Mobile.

2 years contract without any extra payment - so why not for me.

Aw cant change DNS? that kinda sucks

I wonder if there is any hidden higher tier admin account not revealed to public yet, most ISPs love to have a higher tier account meant for technicians

u can't change the DNS because u can't change the APN
but that doesn't mean anything, just do the DNS at all your devices...it's the same

just that it's extra work need to go device by device instead of setting once at router

depends on how much signal are you getting...same concept with your phone
buy a prepaid sim and activate a plan inside...maybe a weekly plan and what sort of speed your area can get

Anyone tested speed/coverage difference between phone and router they provide?

I just went umobile times square this morning, say no 7 day change of mind period. If bad line at home means have to suck it up for 24 months contract. Other telcos also have this 7 day period.

buy a prepaid sim card at 7-11....load RM10 into it
buy the weekly plan and test it extensively to every place that u usually go and usuall would need to utilize the internet and see how the line goes

their coverage map on their website might not be 100% accurate and some area like mine 4G is almost unusable

speed wise, it really depends on what kind of chipset you have on your phone
my phone is using a snapdragon 778+ 5G and it's pulling strong signal and speed than the router...some here is terbalik

I did for my ZTE MC8020. Just link ASUS as main wireless router while switching off 2.4GHz/5GHz radio on the ZTE. Of course since the 5G modem gets hot (not like super hot lah), just put cheap USB fan too cool it down lorh. I set the modem to reboot on daily basis.

But ya, Double-NAT'ng... cant be helped. Atleast solutions like Tailscale and Zerotier are there, also VPN included.
