My basic salary is RM4700, is this low or high?

Still low for them to want to initiate legal action.
Lawyer fees and all that will be way more than that.
In the end, they will rugi if they proceed with legal action.

Lack of ethics and responsibility.

No wonder small fish remains small fish.

Then no worries bro, they won't go after you.
Maybe will just threaten you with legal action but they know damn well it's not worth their while.

u are asking him to take the risk..i am employer myself. I would surely take action whether its worth or not. If i dont, others will follow..all no need follow notice.

1.5 months of RM4.7k is more than RM5k yes worthwhile to pursue legal action against you.

Anything less than RM3k don't bother. They won't take the chance to spend more money to hire lawyers and waste the time.

You are right.

The employer should do the right thing.
Should sue these law breaking employees irregardless or the amount.
Else all the employees will do the same.

When laws are broken, it should be enforced.
When people don't enforce it, everyone will break it and no one will respect it.

That's why we see so many motorcycles ignoring the red light and other traffic rules.
They all believe there is no enforcement.

Agreement in offer letter still the rule. Who can or who cannot are not important now as the owner or management of the company free to decide to use labour law or close one eye to treat resignation matter. Discuss with them in the nice way, not the hard way! If they treat u the hard way due to yr attitude, then u need to pay the consequences.

Not to make you worry further but if you're from MNC or a significantly sized organization with a dedicated legal department, better don't take the risks. Complete your 2 months fully and leave with a friendly gesture.

Ask you new employer to give you some time. If they insists that you join immediately, then also your new company might not be a good company after all which is not understanding.

Then pay compensation in lieu of notice.
Since your notice is 2 months and you want to leave in 2 weeks, then pay 1.5 months salary to your employer.

That's what I did last time.
My new employer wanted me to join them in 1 month and my notice period is 2 months.
My new employer paid my old employer for the short notice and they accepted it.

It's been 2 months ago you asked and some of us already advise you to tender at that time.. if you had done so you already leaving in peace no need to scratching head think about the consequences...

You need to try to discuss with your current employer instead of planning for FFK, i believe deep in your mind you already has this plan but you still open thread seeking people siding with you so you get the bravery to do so...

If you stay in the same job field, you might get bad reputation as your managers or Boss may speak about your attitude. Trust me, it's a small field I jump a few company but sometime I'm still unexpected linked with my previous managers or colleagues when working on some projects...

This.

Word of advice TS, please don't use the argument 'My colleagues can, why I cannot' IRL, makes you look childish.

Preparing a legal letter of demand to the employees are not much especially if the company got attached legal firm.

that was the sentence that pissed me off more than the fact that he asked the same shit 2 months ago but didnt even jump back then
if he had jumped back then and served the 2 months the issue is gone

the other thing is this TS has to be a kid or something. boss reject resignation? wtf??? how can an employer reject a resignation?

he is in sales no less, want to exit out quit? stop meeting your quota and they will kick you out within a month's notice. easier than resigning.
he is so full of shit and abusing the serious K thread

Can I know your age and education level, and how long you have been in this company and the old vs new salary?

I wondering what make you make such a move that burns bridges.
