Professional services encompass a wide range of fields beyond

law, such as accounting, consulting,
engineering, healthcare, architecture,
and financial advising

, to name a few.

Your job field is included in this list, right?

Plan to but still unsure because there may be tax implications in Malaysia if I opt for SG citizenship e.g. no more stamp duty exemption for disposal of Malaysian properties. Need to weigh the cost and benefits thumbup.gif

It's rather random, most of the Malaysians I know got theirs within 6 months .. those from Indonesia apparently faster too recently .. those from other countries may take a little longer ..

If you're an EP holder, doubt u have to worry. S pass may take a little longer.

Yes .. haha ..

My wife got her PR within 6 months, and she applied 6 months from her employment.

Her colleague, a male got rejected 3 times before he succeeded and ranks 2 level higher than her .. but his conversion to citizen was smooth.

Another male colleague of her still getting rejected until today after like many tries .. from what I heard coz he participated in the bersih rally .. hence the rejection

My Indonesian colleague and her fren got it within 6 months. Both female.

A male Burmese applied for almost 2 years but it was really hard for him to get it .. they came back to him requesting multiple documents .. despite he's a PhD holder and currently working for government

A friend of mine got his within 6 months too .. male but he has a lot of savings in sgd .. he used to work here before he returned to Malaysia for phd .. then applied after working for about 2 years

If you have an FD in one of the banks .. shouldn't be hard .. I heard if you have an insurance policy .. the likelihood of getting PR is higher too

I'm also waiting for mine anxiously because we would like to get a unit ASAP .. but I'm kinda worried they may classify me under marriage of convenience..

My future spouse used to be a Work Permit holder, but no longer works in Singapore. Do we still need approval to get married?

Yes. If their last-held pass was a Work Permit, they must still get approval from MOM to marry a Singapore citizen or permanent resident.

You may only register your marriage in or outside of Singapore after your spouse-to-be has obtained approval

They want to control PR?

Even marrying a Singaporean does not guarantee you a PR. They may consider it as a marriage of convenience. Unless the SO is someone highly qualified (e.g., doctor/lawyer?)

Alternatively, why not get married in Malaysia instead? Marrying in SG does not add extra benefit in anyway.

How will he do on age 60?

Give up PR right?

Now basic retirement sum is $ 106,500.

user posted image

The ERS will hence be $426,000 in 2025, instead of $319,500, which DPM Wong said will allow more members aged 55 and above to commit their accumulated CPF savings to receive higher monthly payouts.

The BRS provides CPF members with monthly payouts to cover their basic living expenses during retirement.

The higher ERS is part of wide-ranging changes to the CPF system that DPM Wong, who is also Finance Minister, announced on Feb 16.

So he cannot withdraw any money at age 60?
