I wrote bits of my resume/achievements. I guess the key is to throw in lots of jargons so that you look worthy to be PR in the eyes of the ICA officer.  biggrin.gif

… I guess embellishing it some is ok… But you also don’t want to be seen as padding up your resume!

Actually, Singapore Universities mark down. It's easier to do well in Overseas Uni compared to local Universities (NUS/NTU)... but well, CECA is a different kettle of fish altogether. No degree also can degree mill until got paper cert. But all kosong knowledge.

Haha .. the mark down is something I can agree. The crazy bell curve that I have to deal once a year. I would say we mark them down, rather we have to deal them with a stricker marking scheme.

For CECA, I don't deal with them alot but my wife does. She complains to me whenever she has to deal with them.

Will you ever consider going the whole 9 yards? Trade in the blue Ic for a pink one?

Hi everyone, has anyone had success appealing a rejected PR application? I'm looking for advice and experience

Got 4 lines a week ago but the end result is rejected. Application time - 8 months.

I think appeal doesn't work. You can only reapply. Suggest to reapply with better profile, else you would expect another reject within 6 months. E.g., with a family, higher salary, etc.

An example is my boss. She applied with her family, and they are classified in the others group, which is the lowest tier. Because of her niche, her husband and kid. They were given PR within a short period.

Can I know how many groups are there and how do one knows they are in which tier?

Nationality. While it is not explicitly stated, singapore wants to keep the race ratio constant. They pretty much have a quota system for everything, even getting a hdb/bto.

I am not sure how many tiers they have, but what I get generally is Malaysians at the top of the list, followed by ASEAN, PRC, Indian, and the lowest of the list is others.

We Malaysians have about 10% chance of getting based on statistics. There's about 400k applicants per year, only 20k will be accepted. Within that 20k, I supposed 20 or 30% are Malaysians.

But don't dwell into it too much. My wife's ex-colleague, who was an MBA holder, got rejected twice before they approved it on his 3rd application. And, some who only worked 6 months got approved on their first application. No one really knows what the criteria are.

I agree. Sometimes, perseverance is important as they want to see sincerity. Good luck!

I got mine within 3 months, but that was nearly 25 or 30 years ago. They were handing out invitations to doctors to apply. I still get the invitation to convert at every PR renewal...

Good luck with yours.

Early 2000s was very easy to get.

U don't need to be a doctor to get PR.

My friends in accoutancy line also can get.

You are right, but they were especially easy on Malaysians... those days are gone now, sadly.
