How are people to judge that a new K850 compared to a N95 which has gone through so many firmware update? Simple minded >.>

In 1 year later when K850 can be modded....see which is better

Just like head to head N73 and K800i now definately K800 wins with modded accoustic and camera driver

Good god. That pic is really taken with the K850?

You should really adjust the white balance and ISO.
*
mate, do u understand wat is pic snapped wif auto settings? lol
both n95 n k850i snapped in auto.

QUOTE(avenger @ Oct 16 2007, 12:50 AM)
8431 : try daylight setting and see if the picture improves. also set to low ISO.

p/s : never see K850i before, just a suggestion tongue.gif
*
unit is not mine, so cannot play around wif it much lol. smile.gif
well, the thing is, i set all to auto. so out of cam experience, n95 did better.

QUOTE(harmeet15 @ Oct 16 2007, 01:01 AM)
i tink u hv 2 adjust da light settings...
*
light settings? what light settings?
what i shown was to a normal user, do u know wat to set how 2 set etc?
for a normal user what u would do is take out ur cam and start to snap rite?
that's what i did, snapped using auto for both.

actually the exif is still intact inside those photos, k850i@1/10",ISO 200, while n95@/1/17", ISO 160... differs not that much imo.
if i were to tweak the WB, ISO, then i wud do the same for the n95 also rite? what i wanted 2 show was jz a fair comparsion using the auto settings which most typical users will use IMO.

sorry lo if my pics turns out noob for all of u guys le..hope others can provide better pics le.

just my 2cents.

I know what it means,thanks.
I'm only advising you to manually change the white balance and all that.

Guys,
do you think we can get a direct comparison between the new release of K850 with any others 5MP camera phone? biggrin.gif
Stability? icon_question.gif photo quality? blink.gif quality? functionality? hmm.gif
What else? blush.gif

since when did those farking modded acoustic and camera driver actually create any SIGNIFICANT differences in the quality of the phone.. at best, they are only slightly better in exposure and colour accuracy or loudness in sound... I don;t think I have ever seen anyone who have ever proudly proclaim that a phone become SIGNIFICANTLY better than another phone after some farking firmware update and modded driver...
firmware update and modded driver correct some design flaws in the software of the phone, speed up processing but they cannot change or transform a phone to do something a phone and its component is not originally capable of...
I have both the K800 in its original state and in a state after the latest firmware upgrade and driver modded.. all I notice is the camera responding faster and the farking volume of the audio being louder but the quality of the audio itself remain unchanged. it is like driving more power to unrealistically boost the volume, making the audio cracked up and clipped. only ignorant moron would consider that as an improvement..

unless you can quote a clear cut, solid example of a phone such as K800 SUDDENLY BECOMING SUPERIOR or BETTER THAN ITS ORIGINAL STATE after a firmware update or modded driver installation, I would just regard your statement as crap spouting from an addled brainwashed fanboy...

LOL.

i also share the same feeling with sanook. but not angry with other people's opinion. just SE, because they can do something about it and refuse to do so. of course, they have to think about their Cybershot digicam line too.

i am not good in phone modding thingy

neither i understand the rational or theory, why the picture is better after a cam mod, i seriously do not understand that

but one thing which i could control, use lah photoshop to beautify your images biggrin.gif simple, easy, and risk free biggrin.gif

- disclaimer : i do not go against anyone here, cheers -

Some people say they can reduce the compression of photos via cam mod.
However, this is seemingly a hardware thing and it's not so easy to change the settings via software, IMHO.

Heh, none taken, bro.
N95 is much better. That, I know for now. It makes everything seems very colourful.
Whereas the K850 takes dull pictures.

Nokia makes the photos more colourful. That's providing eye candy pictures to the user, which gives a better impression to the person, since it would look nice, so in the end the person tends to forget about how "real" the picture is compared to the real thing. To me, it would be perfect if this feature can be turned off.

SE's camera seems to be trying to capture the more natural colours of the objects, but then it doesn't seem to be working properly. In the end comes out a dull picture that isn't really close to the actual colours anyway, not only that the quality isn't all great and well worth to boast about.

If that is really SE's idea, that is to get the actual, natural colours, then I'm all for it. If you want eye candy stuff, might as well take the pics and edit in Photoshop? Nokia basically making it simple by doing immediately after taking the pics, but it's not easily reversible now is it? But then, currently, SE's k850 photo shots not very pleasing... I guess it's perfect for resizing, but otherwise... shakehead.gif

the pic i /snapped/shown, the k850i overexposes it and the colours are not accurate
n95 is more accurate/natural to the moment/environment when the picture was snapped or so called natural colors. so where does ur theory on SE trying 2 make stuffs more real applies? hmm.gif

a picture captured is not all about colors only, one need to take account the white balance and exposure as well. since in my test case, it was @ auto settings, it shud've figured out the best exposure or not to overexpose the scene rite? what good is a picture whether dull or vivid if in the end the pics was overexposed? details not captured or loss, as shown in my post, k850i loses as it didn't capture the reflection off the floor of available lightings inside the environment as n95 did. colors can be corrected and reproduced, but not details. and overexposed pics usually will results in stuffs like details lost. i tweaked k850i pic in photoshop, so it doesn't overexpose n colors are more vivid, but still i can't reproduce the reflection of the lights rite?

just my 2cents.

Pictures taken by previous models, though it is also rather subjective to one's taste. The colour accuracy, that is. Don't take my word for it - just what I think... =\

That's why I said SE's trying, but apparently it's not working. Instead it's backfiring, making things worser.

Well, we all still hope that this will somehow be fixed. hmm.gif
