here is a blow by blow, detailed review comparing the K850 to N95...

http://www.gsmarena.com/sony_ericsson_k850...-review-162.php

for a phone that come one year later than N95, it is a shame that Sony Ericsson fail to maintain its superiority in its camphone capability. then again, for diehard SE fans, any new Cybershot phone is a good phone and no amount of reviews are going to change their minds. it is just like that crippled piece of shat of an IPHONE... except for its beautiful Internet browser, everything else about that phone are old and outdated by today's mobile phone technology and yet, there are droves of brainwashed morons, more commonly known as fanboys, buying it just because of the HYPE
and because it is from APPLE.

don't get me wrong. I am a proud owner of the K800 and have it for nearly one year and had never regretted buying it and its excellent camera have proven handy to me on my many outings and overseas trips and I will continue to buy SE phones if it continue to release good quality products. But as it stands out, I am left wondering why the fark do I wait one whole year for this phone when I could have bought the N95 months ago.. this is a shame

i dont believe anyone who said it is plasticky cheap its made from best materials and it is excellent from everything and until now no disadvantages for me really talk about it dont make people hate it go on se!!!!!
K850i is best in Music ..bcoz its a SONY !

K850i best in Camera obviously bcoz its a SONY !

it seems my comment about the downside of fanboyism have been lost on people like you. you buy something and assume it is immediately good JUST BECAUSE it is from a particular company? I guess you would buy a piece of poo that comes from Sony CEO just because there is a label on it called SONY...

How are people to judge that a new K850 compared to a N95 which has gone through so many firmware update? Simple minded >.>

In 1 year later when K850 can be modded....see which is better
Just like head to head N73 and K800i now definately K800 wins with modded accoustic and camera driver
*
since when did those farking modded acoustic and camera driver actually create any SIGNIFICANT differences in the quality of the phone.. at best, they are only slightly better in exposure and colour accuracy or loudness in sound... I don;t think I have ever seen anyone who have ever proudly proclaim that a phone become SIGNIFICANTLY better than another phone after some farking firmware update and modded driver...
firmware update and modded driver correct some design flaws in the software of the phone, speed up processing but they cannot change or transform a phone to do something a phone and its component is not originally capable of...
I have both the K800 in its original state and in a state after the latest firmware upgrade and driver modded.. all I notice is the camera responding faster and the farking volume of the audio being louder but the quality of the audio itself remain unchanged. it is like driving more power to unrealistically boost the volume, making the audio cracked up and clipped. only ignorant moron would consider that as an improvement..

unless you can quote a clear cut, solid example of a phone such as K800 SUDDENLY BECOMING SUPERIOR or BETTER THAN ITS ORIGINAL STATE after a firmware update or modded driver installation, I would just regard your statement as crap spouting from an addled brainwashed fanboy...

and along comes N82 to spoil the party....

I have been a long time user of SE phones but we all got to admit, SE have been ripping us off for some time already with its refusal to include as many functionality as Nokia.. SE started out as a company that offers phones as friendly to use and as feature-packed as Nokia phones at a lower cost but are slowly deteriorating due to the arrogant belief that the consumer will buy no matter what... a cross-platform OS like Symbian against a damn closed system OS in SE, a constantly improving video taking capalities, VGA quality at least against SE's QGA, which have stay the same from K700 to K850... for god's sake.. K700 was released back in 2003 and SE never farking improve it for four years through all its phone models...

at the rate it is going, I am not surprised SE will gradually lose all its loyal customers due and I am all the happy for it... I don;t know about you but I am definitely getting the N82.. it has everything that K850 has and many more things that it does not...

K800 will be my last SE phone.. unless...

you guys really need to realise that with digital camera, it is not just about the MEGAPIXEL. with a farked-up lens, you can have 10Megapixel and the pictures would still comes out inferior.

the simple farking pathetic fact is Sony Ericsson has been taking us fans for a ride and shortchanging us ever since we switch wholeheartedly to from Nokia to SE phones due to once better features and lower prices. With increasing market shares, the SE simply farking ignore the need to improve and enhance features that other phonemakers are busy concentrating on.

it is simply unacceptable that K850 still has this pathetic video recording capabilities and the excuses that it is a cameraphone and not a videophone is bullshit. the design mentality of cellphones has always been about offering the best latest features and SONY ERICSSON HAS CLEARLY FAILED TO DO SO.

Nokia N82 is clearly THE BETTER PHONE, IN EVERY DEPT, CAMERA, VIDEO, GPS, SYMBIAN versatility...

it is about time us Sony fans switch camp to Nokia, and hopefully once SE see the sales figure plummet and lose out significantly on market share to a better-featured phone on the market, they will wise up and reform its design strategy.

You know, sabotage people's thread is very rude. rolleyes.gif

what do you mean by other people's thread? you meant to say only people who are full of praises for the phone model stated in the topic can post here? people who want to criticise the phone model is not welcomed and I will have to start another thread? I am a proud owner of K800 and has been a supporter of SE phones for many years and I certainly got as much right to screw SE for its arrogant unwillingness to enhance its feature and sell the same crippled crap with minor enhancements and market them as new phone technology.
Stating the truth is not sabotaging. if you can;t handle the tea, bury your head in the sand.

can i know, video recording with k850i compare to video recording by nokia N73, with is better, quality??
i'm asking about video,not picture..
*
k850 has essentially the same video recording capabilities of K700 (still remember this? you mean you don't? it was released back in 2003, you know, like way back...) ... so, which phone model do you think have better video recording capability? you mean, you never realise Sony Ericsson never bother to upgrade its video recording capabilities after all these years? where have you been all these years? just released from ISA detention?
