After updating, I noticed that all 3 lenses (main, ultrawide and portrait) now have consistent color especially skin tones.

Previously, the image quality from portrait lens is similar to the latest iPhones wherein there is a beauty filter on the face (making your face brighter and reddish).

But now photos are natural looking like the main camera.

Hi, I am interested in this, considering switching from Poco F3 (give that to my dad to swap out his Redmi Note 7).

What about the 5G support for every service provider in Malaysia? GSMArena didn't put up much info on the 5G bands.

I think this question not much people can answering u as 5g currently only offered by unifi mobile, ytl and umobile as per my understanding.

As for x30 pro global variant, edge 30 ultra it is not officially available in Malaysia, the only way to get it is buy import set from china where it is not 5g certified.

Even if it does not support 5g in future by your telco, nothing much can be done. Buy it at your own risk, the pros and cons are as follow:

Pros:
good hardware spec at affordable price
Near stock Android

Cons:
No official Malaysia set, touchwood anything happen u have to send back to seller and wait for them to post to China and return (probably will take two to four weeks for whole process). The whole experience is very dependant on seller

5g uncertainty. Is not in the 5g list as it is not officially available in Malaysia. It's lucky if it's supported by your carrier

A lot of issues shared by international lenovo Motorola forum such as poor post photo processing, painting peel off at the camera, auto focus issue, dust particle in the telephoto lens area, call volume issue etc etc as what I can recall but this is for the global variant edge 30 ultra.

X30 pro china forum reported poor post photo processing problem but someone above shared about an update so not sure whether the issues still persist or not.

Lastly lenovo Motorola launch new device very fast and now got info leak out for edge 40 already as per gsmarena. Some user in global and China forum do feedback lenovo not really handle persisting issues and keep on launching new device regardless.

I am interested to get 1 initially but unfortunately it's not officially available in Malaysia and a lot of bad user feedback, that's y I don't plan to get 1 myself. U can go ahead if those cons doesn't really matter to u. In this sub threat itself I think less than 10 ppl owning the device.

Ya can wait and see. I don't think they gonna bring edge 30 ultra to Malaysia. If you are not rushing and wanna use Motorola only might as well wait for edge 40, I think it is gonna launch next quarter but whether it will be available in Malaysia is different story.

If rushing closes alternative is oneplus 10t and xiaomi 12t pro but both are plastic frame. Hardware wise edge 30 ultra got metal frame and better camera spec. Post photo processing wise, I think oneplus and xiaomi better. 12t pro is cheaper, I think now can get below 2.5 for 8gb 256 variant and 2 years warranty but have to bear with miui.

Another close alternative is mate 50. Spec, software and post photo processing was excellent but it don't have 5g and gms due to the ban. If it's not something bothering u, mate 50 is much better option. I will get it if not because of Google.

Someone already tried 5G using x30 Pro. It IS supported.
Another thing to point out is-

Telco list of 5G supported phones means these are the phones purchased by the Telcos and physically put sim card and tested 5G signal and connectivity

If the phone is not in the list, it does NOT mean you will not get 5G signal. Lol

And by the way, Malaysian users who bought import set of Moto x30 Pro are very very much satisfied with no complaints. VoLTE even works well

Of course you will see so many trolls in the internet discouraging you from buying this phone but it's up to you to decide. But for me, I am VERY happy and SATISFIED because it's bang for the buck.

Huawei will never be on my list because I need my Gmail, Google Contacts, Drive etc to get sycned with my phone. No need to use some sketchy 3rd party app with bloatware ads for you to just be able to use Google Chrome. Lol

And Huawei is famous for putting so much ads in the lockscreen and notification tray. Imagine buying a RM4,000 phone with built in ads which you can never remove. 😆

Ya it's good that you are happy and satisfied with your purchase. Seem like it's only you through, other than you I never see anyone claiming they are using this device. Lol too bad you are not associated with Motorola, they should hire u.

The 2.66k value seem not bad through for the spec. But the risk is there, it's true that not in the list doesn't mean not supported. It's true that someone saying 5g is supported for this model.

The problem is if touch wood after update or whatsoever suddenly 5g not supported, who u plan to complaint to? China? Motorola Malaysia? Telco? They won't even layan u, the only response you will be getting is sorry this device is from China and we are not able to anything. That's why people rather get official available device.

Too bad Motorola didn't bring it in to Malaysia, otherwise I will consider to get 1. Huawei wise I agree it don't have Google or else it will be an excellent device, lockscreen wise with a lot of ads in lock screen and notification tray is not true based on my personal experience of owning huawei mate 10 pro for so many years. it still smooth and without any problem till today.

You should back read then It's not only me who is using this device in Malaysia.

I know you may not be that techie but again, 5G is just a signal.. just like 2G, 3G and 4G. A good example is someone travelling from the US going to Malaysia using a Google Pixel phone. Once he arrives, tada... there is 4G signal! No need to go to any telco just to beg for a 4G signal.. because... it's just a frequency. If your phone can receive the appropriate frequency bands then you are good to go.

Anyhow to be honest, I miss Huawei. My last Huawei phone was the P20 with excellent cameras in its time. They started the whole night mode thing but it was only Google who made it popular. Things have changed since they got banned from using GMS. Too bad.

Aa you mentioned fasttech had sold few good quantity. It is few..... not a lot and from the few you mentioned, only I saw you saying u are using it on this sub thread. That's what I am saying, the user base is way too low. It's kind of normal for unofficial device as people don't want the hassle in case of anything happen and better support for official available device.

Yes 5g is just a signal but do nobody know at least for now what approach Malaysia will be taking especially when they come out with the list of device that will support 5g for each telco. We won't know for sure whether they will go for whitelist approach or not as currently only three telco ytl, unifi and umobile are offering 5g. Volte and vowifi by right is should be supported by all device that allow such a feature yet it is not available for all device. It's the same thing, no people can say for sure whether it will work without any issues or not for now especially for imported device.

The screenshot you are attached is mislead as well. The first image I suppose user turn on something like suggestive ads or whatsoever and second seem like they use native app to play gallery photo and it's showing ads, for this then I have no ideas as I rarely play video in gallery and even if I did I never see any advertisement. I am saying from the experience of use mate 10 pro.

I know you love Motorola especially how active you are in all Motorola thread but when comment don't be biased. Like it or not the risk is there for imported device and up to user to decide whether can accept the risk or not.

Of course the user base is low as this is an import set. You are always saying it's a "hassle" but Fast Tech will take care of any warranty claim - not the customer. Return the device to Fast Tech's office in Subang and they will send it back to supplier and will give you a brand new device. What is hassle with that? Do you expect customers to fly to China or send the device directly to Moto China?

VoLTE is not a signal -- it's a feature. It's not related to frequency bands at all. A good analogy to understand this is Voicemail. Telcos can enable/disable voicemail feature depending on how they configure their services.

Your Mate 10 Pro (and my old P20) definitely do not have ads as they were during their "Google services" days. Again, a lot have changed since they got banned from using GMS. For now - they need a way to earn money and one of them is brining bloatware and ads to their devices. This maybe acceptable for lowend devices but definitely not for a flagship phone like Mate 50 Pro.

I suggest you visit any Huawei store and see for yourself. I already visited once and that is the very first thing I noticed -- Ads on their universal search bar. Ads will also show up the left page of their homescreen.

Lastly, I never claimed there is no risk in importing a device. But telling people not to buy import set because they will get in trouble with warranty whatsoever is plain dishonesty. Retailers like Fast Tech, T&L Telcom and Monmar are working hard to make a living. This is their bread and butter. All their devices are under warranty and people who buy import devices know this from day 1.

Please read back my previous comment. The hassle I mean here is the time taken for seller to send it back to china and wait for the return which might take 2 to 4 weeks. I never mentioned there are no warranty for imported set, I am saying the support is not as good as officially available device.

I don't understand your logic behind the plain dishonesty, it's you who try to convince people to buy and gaslight the possible risk. It's undeniable fact that the whole experience on warranty claim is depending on seller for the import set and it might take longer as seller have to post back China, wait for agent to send to service centre and return.

5g yes indeed it's signal but till now even you and me also cannot say for sure on 5g support especially two popular telco yellow & green is not offering 5g yet. But what we can see for now is almost all telco come out with their own list of 5g supported device and all we can do is speculate on the support.

The ads wise I have no comment as I stopped seeing huawei device in store after the Google ban. I personally don't see the problem you can claim in my mate 10 pro but it might be really happening to those newer device where I don't have any data.

Pricing wise I agree it's good price for the hardware but the support indeed is not there and waiting time is longer for warranty claim depending on seller speed. One more thing is office in subang and no issue for klang valley people. For those outstation it will be more problematic.........

Whoa there. It's not an official device sold here, so its pretty much the same with other, unofficial sets here.. even being a good phone with near stock Android, and good specs, that is.

But then people buy recond cars all the time (which is far more exp and needs maintenance), so, yea.

Ya. But recond car is different story, the saving value from recond vs phone is so much different. That's y people rather pay slightly more for official phone where normally it's just few hundred different for the sake of convenience. If it's not official available then is up to user to device whether the device is worth or not for the potential risk.

Well, that is also true - the 30 Ultra not being official release here (yet), does dampen my interest in it, somewhat. And like I mentioned before, my 30 Pro takes good pictures, but only still objects, and in good lighting. And having headache to find a good case for this also would be an issue, lol.

30 pro actually quite good, just I don't like the 8 gen 1 chip by Samsung as well as no volte support for yellow. If not I already buy it.

30 ultra actually hit all the tick for me, just the not officially available and the potential hassle stop me from considering it. As well as other problem reported by user on camera, dust, auto focus problem etc etc.

To be honest, I will give it a chance if it's officially available in Malaysia. Not officially available then is a straight no for me, import set is norm to be cheaper but worth the risk or not is depend on user.

For me if I spend money on flagship device, I expect it to be well supported and hassle free.
