among my club members, theres like less than 5 so far who had changed their gearbox. so i would say the percentage of it is very very small.

the earlier batch usually will have the start clutch jerking issue. u'll feel the  whole car vibrating as u accelerate from standstill. the vibration only occurs at the specific speed, after tat wont notice any at all.

all the owners i know that has changed the gearbox still has warranty so they let SC replace FOC. I've also known a few Honda Fit[Jazz] owner, theirs dont have warranty already so they sourced from chopshop for mere RM4k. plus labour everything is less than RM6k.

ah...at least its cover more than 300% rclxms.gif

mileage doesn't matter to me, important is the good maintenance applied to the car, plus how's the condition(engine/gearbox/suspension/interior/exterior etc)

Option 2. i think our club boss fooken and kousou already mention the reason.

I think I notice is this - that day one of my friend wanna test drive my car, so I let him. After a trip, he says he cannot take it anymore and ask me to drive back. I was shock and wonders if he dislike the car. The shock thing is he said the when he drives, he feel headache. I concluded that maybe the windscreen is too big and some people are not used to it, and feels weird.

So ccc8910, you might wanna test drive for a while before you make a decision. That is the first time I heard of the symptom, very weird. But just incase, you might wanna test out for a moment

Added on July 2, 2008, 8:41 amYo boss, fooken. You mention to repainting the car to new color. Don;t we need to inform JPJ or Puspakom about this? Any procedure we need to get thru?

its not compulsory to notify JPJ anymore when u changed colour but compulsory to your insurance company. One of my member just sprayed to white also, he went over to JPJ and they just strike off the old colour n put in the new colour thats all. very fast job done.

Honda is not so 'kiam siap' like toyota spec E and G la. Both IDSI and VTEC come standard with ABS and SRS airbag flex.gif

This is what I heard. I dunno if it is true or not. I think you might wanna search thru TC forum, old and new forum, to confirm this. There is a member that did not go to SC to service his car, and buy CVT-F from outside for use. His CVT gearbox spoilt. But he was lucky I think, because he manage to persuade the SC to sign his redbook and get warranty claim for his CVT.

Now my advice to you is take the car to SC, ask them to check throughly. Especially the CVT. You don;t want to get into any trouble with CVT gb. Anyone from TC forum can you please confirm this? I can't really remember the details. Maybe fooken can confirm it. Actually he's the only one that I remember from TC Forum because of the nick similarity tongue.gif

I think the 38k mileage will be fine for CVT as i believe the car owner has already service/change his gear oil once. It's better to ask someone who is familiar with CT to check the car condition.

yes, service book stated every 40k CVT oil change but most of us request for a change at 20k interval for safety purposes. don't mind paying extra once for the CVT change. better safe than sorry mah.

that was just bad luck for the forum member who bought fake CVT oil.i've never heard of this inthe forum though. most of us buy from authorised honda stockist so the oil is genuine. just bring them to workshop n pay for labour charge.

Yes, insist them to change CVT oil. Don't wait until 40000km. Love your car.

Hello everyone,

I've been reading the HCE Club Postings about Honda City i-DSI and VTEC alot lately as I just placed a booking for a Honda City VTEC about 2 weeks back.

Would like to ask all the Sifu's here about HC VTEC during the first month or so, what to expect besides the FC not being adjusted yet as engine is still new and ECU not programme properly?

I'm currently driving my Perdana V6 and FC for the car is about 9km/L or 0.28 cents which is very high and also partly Proton Cars .. nia .. getting wacky all around.

And yea .. how can I join the club once I get my City?

Oh yea .. the Honda Center I'm buying the City from gave me a Free gift for the car, its the Modulo/Mugen Civic Spoiler, wondering if that will affect the FC or the car itself during highspeed in terms of the aerodynamics etc etc ...?

One more thing, will Honda void the warranty if I transfer my HID and Alarm System with Auto-Start from my current car to the City once I get it?

Thanks for all the advises from all the Sifu's here ..

Cheers Mates,

Just Will
