May I know how the Transfer ID and Stay With Unifi works?
As I was enquiring Maxis about transfer from pre-existing Streamyx to Maxis Fiber, under the interim period where we are having fiber offer from Unifi to compel us to change to Fiber, Maxis agents does not say anything about so called 6 months free offer etc rather they just presented the basic rm89 30mbps package. They were also clueless about whether we should end Unifi/Streamyx account first before jumping to Maxis. |

QUOTE(surianti @ Feb 26 2023, 05:18 PM) May I know how the Transfer ID and Stay With Unifi works? I believe this is to win back TM Unifi customers to stay with them instead of switching to another telco. Not to switch from Streamyx. To get on the SWU program, I think you'll have to migrate to Unifi fibre first. |

QUOTE(surianti @ Feb 26 2023, 05:18 PM) May I know how the Transfer ID and Stay With Unifi works? Existing Streamyx to Unifi or Maxis fibre is a different story. Should you decide to go for Unifi, TM will terminate your Streamyx upon successful installation of Unifi. You can also choose to migrate existing landline number to Unifi if you need it. However if you choose to go for Maxis fibre, you should keep the Streamyx line until Maxis fibre installed, then only go to Tmpoint to terminate Streamyx. Staywithunifi is to prevent existing Unifi users from jumping over to another ISP, thus locking them with 2 years contract. This post has been edited by YoungMan: Feb 26 2023, 09:27 PM |

Hey guys, anyone here using Firewalla with their unifi network? How has it been? Was the setup straightforward?
I’m quite interested in it because it seems much easier to set up than a dedicated pfsense box |

How many months your contract to be left? Then x the difference fee will be your fee penalty.

Hi everyone, just sharing my experience on getting my Unifi done within 1 month even though my area's port is full.
My area: Bandar Sunway (very near Sunway Geo) Already got 2 DP box on my street and both are full. Typical 10 - 15 years housing area, no new development nearby. Initially I engaged an agent to apply for Unifi but once I found out that my area's port is full, even though there's a DP box 2 streets away with 3 empty ports but the contractor said TM doesn't allow to connect my house to that DP because of "ada halangan", basically means they cannot route the fiber cable across the street in case lorry passes by and hit the cable. So I went to Menara TM early this month and submitted a new application. At the same time, I went to Maxis to apply as well. Turns out Maxis is using the same system provided by TM. They saw my Unifi order and asked me to cancel my order from TM before they can proceed to request TM to add new ports to my area lol (Basically cannot do double entry) After I went back home, I call TM every few days to follow up on my application status. All I get is: Tak boleh janji, tak pasti, sementara waktu ini x boleh dapat, etc. So I file a complain and surprisingly they took it seriously. The department who handles complain will call me up to update my status, told me that it'll take about 2 weeks to add new DP to my area. True enough, after 10 days they informed me that a new DP box has been installed on my street. Another funny incident is that when the contractor came, they couldn't locate the DP box behind my house. They found the 2 existing DP but not the new one. But it was on TM's infra map!! The contractor walk around my neighbourhood and found that the DP was installed on another street, different from the location that was shown in TM's map. I call them up and file another complain and the infra team came to relocate the DP on the next day, which is Saturday! (wow) On Monday morning 9.15am, a call from TM told me that the DP is fixed and asked me when the contractor can come to finish up the job, so I said today and finally I've got my Unifi. Though the entire process is quite problematic, but TM managed to solve it pretty quickly. I guess because I requested to upgrade my case to "urgent" and I go to Menara TM directly. I don't think there's any new application on my street and it's different from what I read from other forumers who took months or years to get new ports. I considered myself very lucky to be able to get my Unifi in less than 1 month. |
