Asus AC66u B1 or AC68u if ur speed is 500mbps or less.
Asus AC86u if 800mbps or any AX router with 512MB RAM

There is no benefit in getting AX routers unless majority ur line is 800mbps.
*
AX router not only brings higher speed but also better coverage and wifi connection stability

TM has been testing 1Gb links for quite some time already. It is better that they don't introduce this to the masses considering their congested international link.

Cause the mesh you are using is not fast enough. You need to really overspec your mesh WiFi to get optimal speed.

Take a dual-band WiFi 6 AX1800 mesh system as example, the maximum capacity is 1200Mbps on 5GHz.

Maximum attainable speed on mesh node is half of the capacity due to WiFi retransmission = 600Mbps

Factor in around 50% signal loss over 2 walls = 300Mbps

Factor in another 20% lost due to various inefficiencies = 240Mbps

You can apply this formula to get a rough estimation of the speed you can get on the mesh node of your mesh WiFi system.

When you want to buy a dual-band mesh WiFi system, just multiply the 5GHz backhaul speed by 20% to get a rough estimation of the maximum speed you can get on the mesh node.

I wish I can get as knowledgeable as you one day man. Are you in the computer networks field? I’m doing it as a module on my masters now and I find it really fun and interesting

Anything with wireless - safe bet with 1/3 of so called advertised speed. Industry tends to advertise best speed instead of typical normal sustainable speed. sweat.gif It's a wireless connectivity, so many can go wrong (signal attenuation, retransmission, refraction, collision, inteference, etc) sweat.gif

100% your extender is not compatible. Even the earliest Wifi6 drvice is only available since 2019.
The workaround is disable wifi6 on your router. Set wireless mode to manually operate in 802.11ac

Did any1 here using Tuya/Smart Life smart devices on Unifi?Actually i just got my Unifi yesterday (100 Mbps + D-Link DIR-X1860Z) .Tried 2.4GHz to reconnect all my smart devices (Bulb,Multimode Hub,Temp & Humidity Sensor,Gas Sensor, etc). But only Tuya/Zigbee based devices can connect, wifi based cannot/fail.Before using Unifi,i'm using Huawei router + Dxgx 40 Unlimited and no problem connect all my smart devices..

Tuya/Zigbee : Hub (only wired, connect to wifi fail).Door/Window sensor, all zigbee  devices no problem connect.
Tuya wifi :Only Temp & Humidity Sensor,Smart Plug,Gas sensor can connect.the rest (bulb, etc fail).

I'm using tuya for whole house. Probably your WiFi needs to be 2.4ghz

It's probably possibly to make it work
But it's not a good idea as it will probably hurt the performance of your wifi network a lot

Look into a new modern wifi 6 repeater
Or a mesh system (which tm does offer)
